First, First Republic bank is most likely headed for FDIC receivership, sources say; shares drop 40%.
Second, we have the US yield curve (3M T-yield – 18M FWD 3M T-yield) crashing to the most inverted since the 1990s.
Third, we have US bank lending crashing.
Fourth, we have a shrinking middle class. Way to go Biden/Yellen/Powell!
I wish I could sing “Goodbye Biden and Yellen.” And Foul Powell too.

This “unwinding” of First Republic is way more orderly than SVB. Customers left the bank with their deposits. Shareholders are going to get jobbed for sure. Well, shareholders that are not short in their positions.
1. Post a bunch of financial statistics.
2. Provide no meaningful analysis of any kind.
3. Add an inflammatory, cartoonish headline that makes a political statement but has little or no connection to the content of the article.

The really scary thing is that Biden is probably the safest Democrat out there.

Say what you want about this current “banking crisis,” but there were scores of bank failures in the 60 days after Lehman failed in 2008. We can still count them on one hand.
But that kind of sober analysis will not line doomporn pockets.
