WHAT HAPPENED TO CANADA?
Power Line ^ | 5 Feb 2023 | John Hinderaker

Canada was once a land of fishermen, lumberjacks, oil drillers and Mounties. What the Hell happened? In the Telegraph, Zoe Strimpel writes: “Canada is testing sinister wokeness to destruction.”

The madness of Trudeau’s Canada has reached a fresh, painful high. New rules have come into effect that allow adults in British Columbia – the capital of which is addict-packed, overdose-ravaged Vancouver – to possess 2.5g of ecstasy, cocaine or heroin, as well as the opioid fentanyl, without fear of being troubled by the police. The idea is that with so many shooting up and dying on the streets, the kindest and most helpful thing to do is decriminalise drug possession, ending arrests and prosecution as well as fines and confiscation.

As Kennedy Stewart, former mayor of Vancouver, proudly pointed out: “It gets the police out of the lives of drug users.”

*** Just as heroin has effectively been made legal on the streets of British Columbia, Canadians have been told not to have more than two alcoholic drinks per week – a drastic change from the previously recommended upper limit of around two drinks a day – because alcohol raises the risk of cancer and other diseases. So: a blind eye is turned to heroin on the streets, but a third glass of wine is frowned upon. As far as a philosophy of society goes, at least in 2023, this is a wacky mixture of the controlling and soulless with the callous and wilfully denialist.

What I’m most upset about is with Canada leading the fascism parade, I don’t have a nearby safe country to send my teenager to when these nitwits start WWIII…

Pretty soon we’re gonna have to close the *northern* border too.

Is Canada like the United States and California, where the core native population still votes mostly as it did 40 years ago, but is outvoted by immigration?

Canada never was what people seem to think it was.

For as long as I can remember in my work and travels there over the course of nearly four decades, the prevailing mindset up there could always best be described using terms like docile, compliant, obedient, and submissive.

“One of the greatest things to ever happen to the USA was when the Draft Dodgers fled north.”

But the problem is most of them came back to the US.

Canadians, take your country back!

I lived and worked in Vancouver 1982-85. While there, I met and married my Canadian wife (she's now a Yank).

Vancouver was then the most beautiful metropolitan city I had ever been. As an international business man, I've been a few places and for comparison, none match Vancouver.

In addition the people were warm, charming and full of energy. There was a "vibe" I hadn't felt anywhere. For me, my time there was magical

Since then the city and country have changed for the absolute worse. We have not been back in 10+ years. It would break my heart to see what has become of what I called my second home.

The capital of British Columbia is Victoria. The largest city is Vancouver. Not to deny any of the drug-related issues in the article.

We need to motivate the Neocons to invade Canada, achieve regime change, break it into pieces and plunder/pillage its resources just as they all want to do to Russia.

It’s a lot closer so we don’t have to airlift tanks and artillery to do it. Our Air Force can attack Canada quickly and repeatedly and easily come home for a bite of lunch and to refuel our jets.

Also, their version of English is relatively close to America’s so they will understand when we order them to drop their weapons and put their hands up.

We can bypass Quebec. They have that French surrender thing going on.

A lot of people in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will probably switch sides and join us as soon as we invade.

I’ve heard that illegals have indeed been coming from the north in recent years.

I used to go to BC once in a while, but it has been at least 10 years.

Even 20 years ago the city smelled like piss and the hotel had parking lot security.

I’m mad now, I am getting tired of the “let’s just give up cause everyone is braking the law” Drugs are still illegal, just as long as you use just a little of it.

Or since a minority mainly breaks the law more, its racist to enforce it.

What’s next, Its not rape if you only use part of it... Sorry, but this is getting silly.

“Trudeau is 51. My guess is that he’ll rule Canada for the next 20-30 years.”

Although I despise Trudeau, I can’t see what he’s got to do with Vancouver, B.C.’s municipal laws, or provincial laws.
