Canada never was what people seem to think it was.

For as long as I can remember in my work and travels there over the course of nearly four decades, the prevailing mindset up there could always best be described using terms like docile, compliant, obedient, and submissive.

“the prevailing mindset up there could always best be described using terms like docile, compliant, obedient, and submissive.”

Canada also had a deep problem with the attitude of the politicians and the bureaucrats.

They view the public as peons who must be treated like children.

In the US the “rulers” may think that way but they at least pretend to believe the input of the public matters.
