On Saturday, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky announced a new recommendation to vaccinate all 20 million children 6 months to 5 years of age. Here are some things left out of the announcement that parents should know.
1. The research was inconclusive
The studies were too small to achieve statistical significance when evaluating efficacy against mild or severe COVID-19 infection. As a result, the FDA allowed both companies to extrapolate effectiveness by measuring antibody levels, pointing to data from older children and adults.
There were no cases of severe COVID illness in either the vaccine or placebo group. The Moderna vaccine had 4,774 children and the Pfizer vaccine had 4,526 (including those who received the placebo).
Pfizer concluded that their vaccine was 80% effective in preventing symptomatic COVID-19, but based it on 3 cases in the vaccine group and 7 cases in the placebo group in a subset of children who received a third dose.
Even this was not statistically significant. In fact, it had a confidence statistic so wide, you could drive an aircraft carrier through it. (They reported the largest confidence interval I have ever seen in my 20-year research career). At one end of the range of possibilities indicated by the confidence interval, the vaccine could be associated with a 370% increased risk of getting COVID-19. The Moderna trial reported a short-term efficacy of 38% in preventing symptomatic illness–an effect well-known to be transient.
Ironically, there were more overall hospitalizations (unspecified) in the vaccine group. Out of a total of 7 children requiring hospitalization, 6 were in the vaccine group and 1 was in the placebo group, which was half as large....

7. Many times more children will be killed by the vaccine than by covid.

I think what’s really interesting is the question of children. And, I don’t know if you’re going there, but I was going to say (nervous laugh), you know, so far, these large vaccine trials that Tony mentioned (ed note: this is from September 2020) that are in Phase 3, none of them are including children yet. And so the question will be, when do we start thinking about safety in children, and efficacy in children…and then, you know, depending upon the data, they may be able to use extrapolation and other kinds of statistical methods that they’re familiar with and that the FDA uses (dramatic hand wave suggesting triviality) to try to extrapolate the data from the adults to the children.
That they thinking it is OK to extrapolate adult medical results onto children is unreal. Extrapolation is acceptable when there is a level of homogeneity across the extrapolation zone. In this case, the physiology of a child is way different (indeed, only recently did people realize that extrapolated results of men onto women isn't always smart), and even statistical corrections may not hold true for a new variant.
But just look at the pro-abortion riots....they don't care about children.

Even if the Notavax were truly 80% effective in preventing kids from a few days of sniffles, a cough, a sore throat, etc., and perhaps in a few cases complication like a sinus or ear infection, so what?
Is it worth the risk of down-the-road complications of a shot we don’t really know what is comprised of?
I wouldn’t get my kids vaccinated for chicken pox because the risk does not outweigh the benefit. But I guess it could be said that at least in preventing chicken pox, the risk of facial scars is reduced.
But still, I’d just suck it up and resign myself to a week of yelling “Don’t pick!” instead.
CDC also claims 200 million lives were saved due to covid vaccines.
If it will make you feel more at ease, I had 4 jabs starting 17 months ago, and have no adverse side effects from the Moderna vaccine. OK so I exercise daily and may be stronger than the vaccine. But at age 82, without exercise I would be a dead duck long time ago.
How many kids’ lives are being saved with the vaccine when hardly any kids die of Covid?
Should a 6-year=old get the shingles vaccine?
Of course not.
Why?
They aren’t at risk from shingles.
And we should trust the CDC and FDA why exactly if they can’t seem to understand the risk to benefit ratio of vaccinating kids for Covid?
I don’t think that 200 million number refers to children. Until now most who got jabbed in United States were adults.
