Where?
Dispose of the bodies of those pesky FBI types when they come sniffing around your cabin...
Where are you seeing it for $3/#?
TIA
Cures stinky feet too.
I remember my grandmother having this in the house, but I can’t recall her ever using it for anything. I’ve used Borax for home-made laundry detergent, though.
One more comment.
The shelf life of boric acid seems to be forever if kept dry. It breaks down in temps over 200 degrees, according to something I read. Maybe the temperature requirement isn’t as lax as this though.
Isn’t this what “Borax” is?
Yeah a lot of powder bug killer is boric acid. We use it in jewelry industry mixed with denatured alcohol for a coating on gem stones to help protect them from the heat. Leaves a glass type coating.
>> Boric acid is a low-toxicity mineral <<
Wow, I checked out quickly! Not a mineral.
>> low-toxicity ... with insecticidal, fungicidal, and herbicidal properties
IOW, not low-toxicity. But since that’s a relative term and I’m already checked out, OK, whatever...
>> Boric Acid, which kills roaches, water bugs, ants, fleas and silverfish. <<
Not a sentence...
WHO WROTE THIS?
Best treatment for Carpenter Ants I’ve ever used, with no toxicity problems.
I may have found a better deal.
This is for borax, which is not boric acid, so look into the differences first.
But if you want to buy in quantity, this is 260 ounces for $22. That’s $1.35 a pound. search for borax on amazon.
I use it to protect untreated lumber from carpenter bees and ants. Plus, sprinkle it around the crawl space, foundation and walkways to keep them insects away.
I also use it in swimming pool as a stabilizer. Borax.
It is lethal to most insects as it disrupts their use of water, but vertebrates are not affected, in trace amounts.
BA. It's good stuff to have on hand.
Thanks.

Diatomaceous earth is a powder containing about 80%-90% silica. Diatomaceous earth is thought to kill insects by dehydrating them or drying them out.
What bugs does diatomaceous earth keep away?
Diatomaceous Earth is effective against any insect that has an exoskeleton. This includes fleas, mites, lice, ants, millipedes, earwigs, cockroaches, silverfish, bed bugs, crickets, centipedes, pill bugs, sow bugs, most beetles, fungus gnat larvae, and some grubs.
4 lb. Diatomaceous Earth - Bed Bug, Flea, Ant, Crawling Insect Killer $9.47
.
put 1/2 teaspoon in a glass of water and drink it.
It opens my sinuses almost instantly and feels like good circulation.
Read up on it first, but I am NOT making this up.
BTTT
I also use it for a brazing and forge welding flux.
Always keep several pounds of it around. Bugs, Brazing and Blacksmithing.
Has many medical uses as well.
