"...a lot of these films that do simultaneous release on streaming platforms and movie theater it's difficult to know how good it did..."

When you say FREE do you mean with commercials?
“DIE, HOLLYWOOD, DIE!!!!!!”
Lol.
You might be the funniest person on Free Republic.
Every other day, you have me laughing at something you’ve written.
Happy New Year!!!!!
I was planning on seeing it I probably still will
They made this one about girl power.
The first half is Neo going through mental issues because he’s back in the Matrix with memory wiped but bits and pcs coming back to him. Then when he starts to “believe”, he can’t do the things he used to. In the end, he and Infinity jump off a building and instead of him being able to fly, Infinity is “the one” with no explanation as to how that is. Last scene is her kicking the architect’s butt while Neo stands behind her like a side kick.
Action scenes are like a lot of new movies where they string dozens of 3 second scenes together to make a 3 minute scene. Just a bunch of quick blurbs so you can’t focus and so they don’t have to work very hard to create them. Near blur type of thing.
Plot wouldn’t be bad except that they drag it out for over half the movie with little action.
I am fed up with every movie or tv show having half of the character gay, trans, etc.! The only place that comes close to having that percentage of gays in real live is San Francisco.
There were a number of fairly credible allegations that the two brothers plagiarized and stole the idea for the first matrix. After seeing the last two movies I thought the allegations have to be true because the second two movies were so bad. Have zero desire to watch the new one.
They finally made a sequel worthy of the original.
Even #2 was a quickie money grab.

The rule of thumb is it takes 3X production budget to break even. So a $100MM movie needs $300MM just to break even.
Spiderman is great in that not only is it NOT woke but it removes the “blame covid” narrative.
Their DNA did not change. They are still men, just without ****s.
Streaming... when people have other choices at their fingertips.
“Ghostbusters: Afterlife has had a pretty respectable run. “
Thankfully it was a hit, I was concerned that it would end up like the last one which was trash. I hardly know anyone who likes Ghostbusters 2016, there was one person, but she was a very unhinged woman with a crap attitude.
I think they could explore the machines fighting each other, to.
But they have to have someone who can take a story and tell it in film. I don’t think they have that. Until then, it’s best to leave The Matrix alone - and don’t re-enter.
Disappointing film.
Re: 24 - What frustrated me was most of the fight signs.
So many people fighting that it was one confusing mess. Example - fight on the Shinkansen in Japan. Yeah, it’s a narrow tube moving at 150-200mph, and lots of people fighting at the same time can be hard to film , but damn, figure it out.
The same when they are fighting Smith and the Exiles, and the ending fight - just all very busy that was a confusing blur of bodies.
Neo’s fights with Smith in “The Matrix” were good filmmaking. Fights between one hundred or so people don’t make it one hundred times better.
And that statute of Morpheus - oofa. Looked like it belonged outside a gas station in the West.
They told an interesting story but the filmmaking was not compelling. Time to let the franchise rest in peace.
Watch the bus fight scene from Nobody.
Brutal, bloody and efficient. Everybody gets hurt. This is how you do it.
Matrix 3 was so bad, why would anyone want to see 4 20 years later or whatever it’s been?
No; if you pay $15/month for HBO Max, you can watch many first-release in-theaters movies at no extra cost, no commercials.
The Matrix is based on Plato’s story, The Allegory of the Cave.
Go woke, go broke.
