UK Thang was identified as the gunman who shot 15 people, one fatally, at a Kroger grocery store in Collierville, Tennessee.
Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane confirmed in a news conference that the gunman shot multiple people. There are at least 15 victims, with two dead, including the gunman, he said. The other victims are stable.
Thang was 29 years old and shot and killed himself at the scene. Police declined to give his name in a news conference, but they released it to the news media afterwards, according to the Daily Memphian.

The intelligence is lacking in that statement. Don’t any journalistic groups professing themselves to be, know how to form a sentence without screwing it up? That’s like saying if you threaten to kill yourself in front of police, does that make it a hostage situation?

Not exactly true. The phenomena of mass "spree" killings, particularly of unconnected people first appeared in the 1920s with a bombing of a school in Bath, Michigan. An individual spree shooter was first noted in 1948 when Howard Unruh, a WWII veteran, decided to randomly shoot up a town in New Jersey. Then Charles Whitman, in 1966, shot from the University of Texas tower in Austin which seemed to lead to the modern version we see today.
You are correct that this all predates the era of psychotic meds such as SSRI. But such crimes haven't "always been" with us.

The incidents have not increased- there have an average of 3 per year since 1966 when cases started being recorded more thoroughly. Over 45 million people are on SSRI’S, and if they were causing the incidents, the numbers wou,d,have grown each year as more and more folks went on them.
Most of the perps had violent thoughts, and desire to leave their mark before going on meds. They were social outcasts,, or picked on for being weird or different.. Many were on no meds at all when they struck.
If the numbers had steadily Increased year to year after meds were handed out liberally, then yeah, It child be stated there is a likely,cause for the violence. But it’s been 60,years of records now, and the average is stil, 3 per year. (Some years, more, some years less, some years none)
Even the reports on websites trying to make the link between meds and incidents, use a study done by the scientology dude who,studied the,issue, and admit that correlation does not ≈ causation, and points out that many of the perps were not on meds, and those that were had the tendencies to violence before going on the meds. Some folks just can’t be helped, while many villent people have been helped and have not continued or carried out their violent tendencies while on meds.
That’s just an excerpt from the article. It is Heavy after all, so what do you expect. Local news is separating out the one person murdered and saying separately that Thang killed himself.
They still don’t say what kind of rifle he used. Witnesses said it sounded like balloons popping. If that is the case you could expect a 9mm carbine. I have heard two people being shot with handguns (one dead) and they both sounded like a pop.
Rifles pretty much blow year ears off if you don’t have hearing protection, they are much louder than a pop.
