Drought Indicators In Western States Flash Warnings Of The ‘Big One’
More grasshopper maps here.
Mega-drought? Heck, why not Giga-drought? Tera-drought. Uber-drought!
Good eating.
You have to get them when they’re young.
I hopefully won’t find out. There’s still lots of beef, elk, deer, everything else up here heh.
Started with “kung Fu”.
Sure why not. They're not high enough yet.

Maxi drought. Unprecedented! Never since “records” started being kept. Anything that happened before records (NOT 33/45/78) doesn’t count. Apparently. Although, a couple weeks ago on a side trip from Elko back to Reno we stopped at a rest area and you could hear the crickets crunching as we pulled in. Yikes. Reminded me of crawfish migrating across I-10 just east of New Orleans. Just not as tasty. :-}
Never mind that annoying Communist Revolution. Look over here! Grasshoppers!
Prepper ping.
Release Metarhizium.

Droughts and plagues are only the first things.
Much worse to follow.
a.k.a. Judgement
In the geological record, there has been a bunch of times when California experienced 100, 300, and even 500 year long droughts. However, the West is a LOT greener today than even 70 years ago, and there are vastly more birds.
Birds that eat grasshoppers.
However, if you really want to reduce their numbers in a hurry, breed and released dragonflies will do the trick. Bats are also voracious eaters of grasshoppers.
Someone could set up a “killing field” for grasshoppers easily, to bring them where the predators are waiting, just by erecting bright illumination lights around a bare area.

In the olden days before the Dems destroyed everything you could rent a real FLAME THROWER to clean out the grasshopper nests.
(From the article):" They’re everywhere,” Wiederrick said. “Drought and grasshoppers go together and they are cleaning us out.”
"If extreme drought conditions continue in parts of the U.S., harvests this year could be severely impacted."
The United States Department of Agriculture has published a map of the grasshoppers spreading across arid regions of the western half of the U.S."
