What happens to the human gene pool if we blow ourselves up, or a several mile-wide asteroid hits the earth?

Having a colony on Mars doubles the chance for the survival of the human genome in case of the above.

Spoken like a true atheist.

You shouldn't judge others, lest you tempt them to judge you.

At the very least, as a follower of Christ, you should know why you believe what you believe, and able to defend what you believe based on the Word of God.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

I haven't seen any scriptures prohibiting the exploration of space or the planets. In fact, such exploration has contributed greatly to "subduing" this planet in less damaging ways.

And guess what, Perseverance is going to launch a helicopter!

Post 2001, the assumption was that we were all terrorists.

Post March 2020, the assumption was that we’re all terrorists with leprosy.

Post November 2020, the terror tag only applies to Trumpsters, but everyone is still a leper.

Barf to it all. I never wear a face diaper at our local Post Office and act like I don’t understand or can’t hear very well when forced to walk through a metal detector.

I am not a crook nor am I sick. ‘Eff ‘em all.

I apologize if you are a believer, but I wrote what I did because of what you wrote. You said;
What happens to the human gene pool if we blow ourselves up, or a several mile-wide asteroid hits the earth?

Having a colony on Mars doubles the chance for the survival of the human genome in case of the above.
So if you are a believer, then why would you make a silly statement about colonizing Mars when we destroy this planet? God tells us in that once Christ returns he will destroy this planet, it's over. Or haven't you Read 2 Peter 3:10?

We also know that other than the end of time. He promises to never destroy the earth again. So we will not be needing to colonize Mars. The end will come long before we ever can reach it with a man to even touch it.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10

I have nothing against exploring space and other planets, but to believe that humans will thrive on any rock out there is just ludicrous.

Besides, we will never ever be able to. We can’t fix our problems down here, and as I said, our evil ways will be the reason Christ returns long before we ever have the capability to successfully send a few humans to Mars. Let alone enough to colonize it.

I personally believe we should be using our talent to create colonies underwater, but even that is stupid.

As of right now we can put the entire planet’s population comfortable in Texas. If we all want a big yard, we can put all the people in the Midwestern states and cultivate the rest of the World for food.

We are so far from needing to populate another planet that it is ridiculous to even consider it. If we cannot get along enough to make it here, we will never make it on another planet.

If you are a Christian, then you should know that. God does, and that is why He told us how it will end for us here. From the looks of things, it will not be long.

I speak straight truth, I do not hide it. God wants us to be honest with each other. When we speak out of line, well God corrects us.

Maybe you should consider the idea that God sent me to your comment so He could tell you through me what you really need to hear. No one liked the Prophets, because they spoke truth. Now I do not claim to be a prophet, but I am a man of conviction who knows the Scriptures, and I speak them as I am led to. And that is the truth.

God bless you brother, and again I apologize for calling you an atheist, but now you know why I did.

Chuck

Now we know why there’s no life on Mars. The Martian’s were driving their evil SUV’s and the increase of CO2 killed them all off.

#34 where did all the carbon dioxide come from? Was it Martian SUV’s, coal plants etc?

That's hilarious. They'd be all be dead from clawing each others eyes out as there would be no room for anything else, like roads, warehouses, stores, hospitals, schools, etc. That's like saying I can fit the entire neighborhood in my house because it's so big. They'd be sardines, stacked to the ceilings, but I'd squeeze um in.

It probably increases the chance of survival to 153.177% if you want to be specific.

Actually, if you do the math, there would be room enough for families of four to have an acre of land, room for roads, and with apartments complexes, there would be room for the rest of the infrastructure. However, if not then move them to the midwest, and you would have more room.

The point being, we are NOT overpopulated.

It is not the space, it’s the inability to get along as you alluded to. However, we do NOT need to populate a new planet to survive.

If we cannot get along to survive here, we are not going to get along to survive on another planet.

It is not a space problem we have, it’s a human nature problem that we will always be at war, because there will always be those who want to control us, and those who will agree to become slaves to those who want control them. Against us who want NO ONE to control us.

57 million square miles of land mass on earth. If 8 billion people get 500 sq. feet of space each...I think it works out roughly to the area of calif+Oregon+and washington state. Not including mountains or rivers as habitable.
The rest of the world goes to infrastructure, roads, schools, factories, recreational space ,farming, production of living aids...clothes, sitcoms, etc. More space if some housing was 2 storied buildings.
Then, there is that “mankind is evil” problem...as you mentioned.

Any planet? No one to my knowledge ever made such a wild allegation.

Out of trillions of planets, could there be some which could support humans? I'd bet yes, probably many thousands of them. Finding them and getting there could take 200,000 yeares, as it will probably take man that long to figure out how to quickly travel through interstellar space.

Should every generation which follows do nothing towards possibly finding a new home for distant generations? No one gets out of here alive anyway if they choose to stay on earth as eventually the sun exhausts it's fuel and dies, bringing down the curtain on earth/humans. Man has plenty of time yet to find a new home and possibly save the species in the distant future. We have about 5 billion years give or take a few million here and there.

Will God destroy earth/humans before the sun does? Maybe it was decided the sun would have a cataclysmic event occur, which will cause the sun to prematurely expand and die in the not too distance future, reducing the earth to piece of coal surrounded by a gas cloud... I dunno.

But if I were alive in about 3.5 billion years and conditions on earth were increasingly becoming nearly uninhabitable due to the solar suicide, and I was offered a ticket out to where others were living/surviving? I'd take it! ☺

Apology accepted, Chuck. Think no more about it. And God bless you to, brother!

From Psalm 3:

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet...

From Mark 13:

“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

Maybe Elon is on a mission from God?

Take care my fellow earthly sojourner,

P.S. Thanks for explaining things from your point-of-view. And I agree the end of this age is near. Good servants continue with their tasks, until the master returns.

:)
