What happens to the human gene pool if we blow ourselves up, or a several mile-wide asteroid hits the earth?
Having a colony on Mars doubles the chance for the survival of the human genome in case of the above.

You shouldn't judge others, lest you tempt them to judge you.
At the very least, as a follower of Christ, you should know why you believe what you believe, and able to defend what you believe based on the Word of God.

And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” I haven't seen any scriptures prohibiting the exploration of space or the planets. In fact, such exploration has contributed greatly to "subduing" this planet in less damaging ways.
And guess what, Perseverance is going to launch a helicopter!
