If You Care About Mental Health, You Must Vote Trump!

As soon as Donald Trump clinched the Presidential Nomination in 2016, that's when it all started.

Trump vs Mental Health

Somehow it was assumed that Trump (and his supporters) could never be pro-Mental Health.

On Psychology Today, who has approached me to join their team, there are tens of thousands of articles about President Trump and I've yet to find a positive one.

In August of 2016, the founder of PsychCentral labeled Trump, "the consummate American bullshit artist" and further proceeded to insult every Trump Supporter on PsychCentral by saying, "the American people will buy any line of B.S."

Having learned that their boss hated Trump, all the other PsychCentral psychologists, therapists and bloggers felt free to clamber aboard, gleefully bashing Trump in their articles.

Save one: me.

Here's what I've wanted to know since 2016: When did caring about Mental Health supposedly become the sole province of Liberals?

When did supporting Mental Health and supporting Donald Trump become mutually exclusive? Sure, there are bad apples in every party. Every time a Trump supporter behaves badly, there will be a headline about it on The DailyMail. We're supposed to reason from one tiny rotten apple to a whole rotten barrel.

A Few Bad Eggs

One of my favorite quotes from C. S. Lewis' The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is, "Logic! Why don't they teach logic at these schools?".

Most people don't realize that Logic isn't a vague term. It's actually codified. There are Laws of Logic and, conversely, terms for Logical Fallacies. But I never would've known that if my father hadn't insisted that I study Logic, Reasoning and Critical Thinking during my Junior year of homeschool. It's come in handy and I'm very grateful.

When the Mainstream Media (MSM) implies that all Conservatives are abusive or angry or paranoiac or racist merely because someone like my Republican father-in-law refuses to meet his mixed race great-grand-daughter, they are committing the Fallacy of Composition.

Wikipedia defines it as, "when one infers that something is true of the whole from the fact that it is true of some part of the whole."

But you already knew that because you are a Conservative, you are logical and you are kind.

So when certain people with ties to the Democratic Party commit violence, looting and arson, we don't reason from the part to the whole. We already knew that most Liberals are peace-loving but there are a few bad eggs who cast very long shadows.

Why can't Liberals show Conservatives the same courtesy?

Language!

Another accusation leveled at President Trump is that his language is abusive. It triggers snowfl...I mean, some people.

Frankly, I've never understood that. I find his language charming. It's simple, straightforward, comforting.

Good. Bad. Right. Wrong. Evil. Righteous. Freedom. Socialism. Love of God.

Simple words but powerful concepts. To me, when Trump speaks it feels like home.

He is the first "politician" who has ever been able to hold my attention simply because he isn't a politician and doesn't speak like one. No obfuscating word salads that trip my Bull$shit Meter and lull my brain into putting up its screensaver.

If identifying evil as "evil" is abusive, then so be it. Personally, I find it much more abusive to namby-pamby around, making excuses, inventing new illnesses, using euphemisms and otherwise explaining away why evil people do evil things. That is much more abusive to the victims of those evil people.

Turns out, you can care about Mental Health and support Donald Trump. In fact, I think Mental Care professionals must vote Trump after witnessing the projection, narcissism, defamation, libel, perjury, condescension, control, even racism and other Bad Behaviors by the Leaders of the Left, the Liberals, the Democrat Socialist Party.

So where are the other psychologists, counselors, therapists, life coaches and bloggers with the guts to stand with me and publicly say, "The Mental Health community supports President Donald Trump."

Someone? Anyone? Or must I stand alone?

Pro Mental Health. You mean you want more people drugged into homelessness and shocked into being vegetables?

People do the faux “I care for mental health” when they have no idea about what truly goes on in this country when it comes to mental health. Once you are diagnosed with a mental health issue, apparently you never recover from it. Take the case of the gentleman in Washington state who was treated for suicidal tendencies when he was younger, went on to become a productive member of society at the age of 37 and still denied the right to own a gun. He case was denied in the state courts. People don’t care about mental health until someone starts shooting up the local high school or elementary then its all mental health people are bad and cannot own a gun to protect themselves. Florida was a good example of people not caring. If people knew the true history of mental health institutions in this country it would make 9-11 look like a day frollicking in a meadow. Not every homeless person has a mental health issue but you only hear about those homeless people with mental health issues. Many many people that are homeless have other issues other than mental health.

So true. My husband was homeless, by choice, as a young man to escape his horrible abusive father. And he’s the most sane, calm, logical person I know!

My own writing about Mental Health has been all about healing and getting on with normal life. Not the endless type, y’know what I mean.

Quite the opposite. I’m against psychotropics and endless therapy. I wish for them healing and that’s always what I wrote about.
