New data from the New York Fed highlights how the job situation for recent graduates is worsening. While the rest of the labor market trends favorably, fresh graduates are more likely to be unemployed than the base U.S. working population. That has not happened before in the New York Fed data going back to 1990. While the unemployment rate for all college graduates aged up to 65 (blue line) is trending lower currently near its lowest level of this current economic cycle the market for recent college graduates (red) is bucking the overall trend. With the backdrop of a robust U.S. labor market, this is an important and worrisome trend to watch because it never dropped to prior cycle lows, DataTreks Jessica Rabe wrote in a note. Even though those who have graduated from college typically get hired before less educated workers.

How many of these are Americans displaced by foreign graduates allowed to stay and work in the US? The shadow H1B program.
Yup.
And guess what demographics get these worthless degrees?
Which is why gynosociety is trying to float the idea of debt forgiveness for college grads.
With Indian and Communist Chinese H1Bs and H4EADs stealing the market from real majors, that statement is almost farcical. Real majors cant get jobs. They cant get past the cronyism, nepotism abc racism of lying cheating Indians with fake unverifiable degrees and employment history
No degree guarantees employment.
Even STEM degrees dont anymore with the way corporations are outsourcing the labor or replacing Americans with H1Bs.
For now... until the government grants a ton more of H1Bs to replace Americans with Indians.
... all doing fine for lying cheating Indian and Communist Chinese H1Bs. American citizens, not so much
Why are those peeps not "stealing" jobs from "Studies" Majors?
I got a degree in business management (useless) from Pace.
I just answered job ads looking for recent grads and I found one pretty quickly and a good one too.
That was 1990.
But that was in NYC and Pace had a decent reputation so maybe that was why.
Guy told me he chose my resume out of 4,000. Said he thought I had integrity. (got that from a resume?)
That was the highlight of my business career and it was 29 years ago!! :)
TXnMA
Once S.386 passes, this Indian slime will take non-STEM jobs as well. Hell, Durbin wanted to up it to 2.6 Million Green Cards per year for these Indians.

Brainwashed socialists do not make good employees.
Who wants to hire one?
Not me.
Could have a lot to do with the degrees they are earning if there is any validity to this story at all. Just not many opportunities for Social Justice Warriors. Couple that with their feeling entitled doesn’t bode well for them either.
Hardest hit group are the over 40 techies. We get replaced by the h1bs AND the millennials. HR screeners REALLY hate the white middle age techies.
Just saw an article the other day that Computer Science has become the most underemployed degree. Funny, this is at the same time that politicians are pushing for more to be imported.
The kids I know have money in their pockets and getting married.
I think I’m going to suggest she get herself a real education...by reading Free Republic for one thing! Real life is about to hit her hard, I believe.
“most underemployed degree”. Does that mean there is a SURPLUS of Computer Science degree holders? Or a deficit?
I think I know what you mean, but I’m just asking you directly.
4 years for a Bachelors Degree, 2 more for a Masters, then 2-3 for your PhD in “Black Lesbian Dance Theory for White Transgender Men” is not going to get you a job. Too many degrees are only good for teaching others a useless knowledge base that accomplishes nothing other than money being spent, debt incurred, and a job working 24 hours a week at Starbucks.
Do I cry? Hell no. They chose the easy way and easy usually means not much of a reward at the end.
Generalized blah blah blah.
And "Conflict Resolution" and "Community Organizing."
Yes, actual majors.
