It’s irrelevant. Let’s talk about the basics. Having a constitution that limits government and gives individual freedom is a very good thing. Just think if Trump got to pick and choose which parts of the constitution to follow. I know liberalism and logic don’t work well together, but we really need to get them to understand the fundamentals of our government and not look at just the very specific issues/cases they care about at any moment.
1) Do we have freedom of religion in the US? If you don’t want it, we need to talk about “we the people” approving an amendment to get rid of it. It shouldn’t be removed by a few judges and they’d hate Trump to pick the parts to follow.
2) Does this particular exercise of that freedom harm anyone? For example, throwing gays off a building would do harm. “Not baking a cake” won’t do harm unless that makes it difficult to get a cake.
In 1st. century A.D. Judea a gay couple would have been stoned to death.
Joy Behar was just shooting off her mouth. There’s no way she could know one way or another. But this is a good example of how Leftists will say or do anything to advance their agenda; Truth is completely beside the point.
The question here is whether the government is authorized to tell anyone what Jesus would or would not have done. Usually liberals jabber about the “wall of separation” between church and state, except when the state can take over the role of the church and force someone to do what liberals want. Then suddenly the “wall of separation” is a mere trifle, a speedbump.
As He did with the adultress, Jesus would have forgiven their sins and told them to go and sin no more.
Jesus never endorsed behavior that breaks fellowship with God and is contrary to his will.

If one wants to know what Jesus would do, He published a book that lays it all out. She should try reading it.
It's always interesting to hear/read leftie liberals either quoting a Bible verse out of context or presume to know Christian theology when they know nothing about it. But then, they feel that since they're on TV whatever they say is true.

That standard has not changed because it is God’s standard for ALL nations. Child sacrifice is a line that can never be crossed and is not forgiven. Native Americans practiced human sacrifice, too. America has fallen that way. All but 5 or 6 nations have crossed the line. It is why the Day of the LORD is a day of wrath.
There can be a reprieve with national repentence (changing of laws in our case) but only one reprieve is given.

Christ always loved and associated with sinners, especially of the worst kind. He did not however indulge in their sins or promote them to continue sinning.
“Go and sin no more” is something the commie left never seems to remember about Christ’s infinite mercy. They sieze on “your sins are forgiven” and conveniently forget “Go and sin no more”.
