Not long after President Donald Trump was sworn in, we happened to run into the Rev. Jesse Jackson on the street. He gave a thumbs-up to Trumps inauguration speech but said the new commander in chief has much work to do in order to unify a nation riven by a divisive campaign.
The speech was full of hope and inclusion and he reached out to cities in a way theyve not been reached out to for a long time, he said. But with that must come a target, a timetable and a budget.
Trumps speech hit many of the populist chords he refined on the campaign trail, portraying Washington as full of elite insiders indifferent to the common man....

That’s a surprise!
and Jane Fonda is planning a USO tour...
I have a feeling that he blames obama for his son going to prison.
JESSE wants in on the action...
What the does he have left to lose? Before Obama, He was America's Black leader. If he hooks up with Trumps urban renewal... he could be a community organizer for the building of a community, unlike Obama.
Truely a miraculous day. God was obviously moving, and blessing.
Ahhh you can always count on Jesse Jackson to follow the money.
President Trump has been talking about infrastructure reconstruction. I think that that is the bone.
He doesn’t have a direct line to the “just us” department any more. Back taxes may scream louder in his dreams than the lives he’s ruined.
Jesse just know which way the wind be blowin’. He knows the loony left thinks he’s a tired punch line—always has—and the black bourgeoisie under a Trump presidency will now be allowed to stop apologizing for acting white, and can finally come out the closet and admit they really, really hate rap music.
Jesse’s figured out Trump is the New and Improved Black President, and he just tryin’ to get out front.
Shucks, what next? Al is gonna be down at the IRS, smilin’ and writin’ a check on Monday mornin’.
Winning!
Whoops. Jackson must not have received the Chris Matthews talking points.
Knock me over with a feather.
But . . .
Let’s verify, eh? Somebody above said follow the budget (MONEY)!
Yup.
Fake news or the Onion hoax?
Many don’t know that one of the (long ago) stories Jesse used to say went something like this:
“I was walking late at night in Chicago and saw 4 people a bit behind me, following me. I turned around, saw they were white, and knew that I was safe.”
Of course he only said that to black audiences, but it was powerful. So now, maybe we’ve turned a page. Instead of our side, and for that matter, the Dems, going to so-called ‘black leaders’ for permission to address problems in LaHood, we go directly to the people in LaHood (a little Transportation Department lingo, for those of you in Rio Linda). At that point, the black leaders can take it or leave it...and, so far, Mr. Jackson may well be taking it.
“budget” was the word that stuck out in my mind, too.
Up until then, I could agree with him.
I say don’t toss him anything. He has a history of appropriating “budgets” for himself. Yes, there will need to be money invested to clean up the inner cities, but one of the BEST ways to clean them up is to eliminate the graft, corruption, and diversion of funds into political pockets - about 98% democrat from what I’ve observed. Remember Katrina? Funds intended for the maintenance of levees went into the pockets of the democrats running NOLA.
“he reached out to cities in a way theyve not been reached out to for a long time,’ he said. ‘But with that must come a target, a timetable and a budget’.”
The “target”? Jesse Hi-Jackson himself. The “timetable”? Now. The “budget”? A biggish number with at least seven zeros after it.
Hey, Jesse, you’re dealing with a guy who has HAD to backup his big mouth with a plan and a action for all of his life. STFU and sit down and WATCH.
