The father of the man who reportedly shot up an Orlando, Fla., nightclub early Sunday morning claims his son, Omar Mateen, became "very angry" when he saw two men kissing in downtown Miami a few months ago and thinks it may have been part of his son's motivation.
At least 50 people were killed and more than 50 injured at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, overnight. "We are saying we are apologizing for the whole incident," the father said to NBC News on Sunday.
"We are not aware of any action he was taking. We are in shock like the rest of America. This had nothing to do with religion," he said.
Authorities said the suspect engaged in a shootout with an officer who was working at the club at approximately 2 a.m. before going back into the club and taking hostages. A Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was sent inside the club to rescue the hostages at approximately 5 a.m.
Police said the suspect, who was killed inside the club during a shootout with police, had an assault-style rifle, a handgun and “some type of device.”
"It appears he was organized and well-prepared," Orlando Police Chief John Mina said, adding the shooter is not from the Orlando area.
An agent from the FBI's Orlando field office also said there are “suggestions” that the suspect may have had “leanings” toward radical Islamic ideology.
"We can't say definitively, so we're still running everything to ground," he added.
Law enforcement sources told CBS News the shooter was Omar Mateen, a U.S. citizen from Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Why would you actually believe what his father said? He was investigated by the FBI for terrorist threats long before that supposed event occurred. The father wants to protect his religion.

I don’t know...but he does make my point - which is that if you want to flood the country with Muslims, you better be prepared to take steps to not antagonize them.
Two men kissing was none of the savage, ignorant killer’s business.
Here is the difference between conservatives and Liberals/muslims:
As a conservative, I find the tyrannical policies of Leftists to be hateful, harmful, and anti-American. But I recognize it is their right as Americans to try to enact them. When Leftists look at the viewpoints of conservatives (or anyone they disagree with, as in the case of the proposals of Donald Trump to build a wall or curtail muslim immigration or any number of other issues they disagree with) then those leftists justify using violence to express their disapproval.
As a conservative, I find the visual of two men kissing each other on the lips in a sexual fashion to be repellent, but I recognize it is their right as a citizen to do something like that in their private life, and to even attempt to get legislation passed to place a homosexual act on par legally with the relationship between a man and woman in the bonds of marriage. It is repellent to me and I disagree with them to my core with their attempts to mainstream homosexuality and place it on an equal footing with heterosexual marriage, but I cannot interfere with it as an American, except through the force I can exert on the legislative process. On this issue, and a host of others, Muslims feel perfectly justified in resorting to violence and murder.
