The word behind the word is that Paul Manafort is already earning his keep BIG TIME as he moves to deliver a stunning blow to the Cruz campaign a source describes as a potential “punch to the face” that involves the number 172.
Here is a brief summary of what will simply be called the “172 Plan” :
**Talks are ongoing and more numerous between Team Trump and a second party over the last 48-hours.
**If these talks lead to an agreement, it will be a game-changer in the 2016 Republican nomination process.
**Manafort is said to be personally leading the negotiations with Donald Trump’s full approval. In fact, it’s believed Manafort was the first to suggest this scenario last month but did so then more as an observer of the campaign. Now he is a top-ranking operative/adviser for Team Trump.
**This ongoing negotiation has sent the Cruz campaign scrambling to block further negotiation from materializing and getting a considerable assist from powerful GOP forces.
For all of that to happen rule 40B can not be changed, correct?
I do not accept Kasich. It would be proof to me that Trump has no interest in returning America to its foundational principles.

1. Trump offers Rubio the GM position at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa.
7. Trump guarantees 7 years of free tuition for each of Rubio’s 4 kids.
2. Trump promises a lifetime supply of 2” shoe risers for lil Marco.
If the convention issue is tight in June, I expect Trump will unite with Kasich or Rubio. Manafort may be pushing the 'anything to win' meme.
If it looks like Trump has 1237, I expect him to pick the VP he really wants.
Neither McConnell nor Dole have delegates to barter. Rubio and Kasich, on the other hand, would sell their mothers to cannibals for a shot at the VP slot. Lots of options for the Trump campaign.
WENDLE is incorrect. Someone not nominated can and will receive first ballot votes, as a bow to state rules if for no other reason.
If those other candidate votes were not recognized as cast, then the number required for a majority would also be lowered.

Well, if Rotten wins, we’ll continue driving over the cliff at 200mph. Trump will slow the crash by about 10mph. As Ted has said, Trump can’t make America great AGAIN since he has no idea why it was great in the first place.
I think Rubio could shake things up just by rescinding his request to keep the delegates bound to him. I don't know what it would take to get him to do that.

The problem for Rubio is that he likely knows very well that the GOP establishment will go all-in for Hillary in the general election...Trump and his running mate will be running against the establishment of BOTH parties, who will put up all the money they can raise from the big money donors of both parties against them. Rubio does not strike me as a courageous type...he’s thrown his lot in with the big money establishment thus far, don’t think we will see him in revolutionary garb.
In the general, both parties go to the wall against Trump, because he is a huge threat to their closed two-party oligarchy. Loss of Control of the government structure they’ve both built could destroy them both.

Yeah that may be an option Trump’s considering. However, Manafort still seems very confident that Trump exceeds 1,237 delegates after the June 7th primaries, and so do I since I’ve looked over the remaining states where Trump obviously has a great advantage.
