A little change of pace from the news. I came across this the other day, and thought others might enjoy, and/or have an opinion they'd like to share.

Try the veal. It's the best in the city.

While Atlanta aint nyc when it comes to italian....olive garden dont hold a candle to Frankie’s in Atlanta. Current owners grandmother came off the boat.

one of the NY tabloids was dissing Atlanta...they got hold of one of the city magazines they leave in hotel rooms..under best Italian restaurants..they had Olive GardenAt that point, don't you have to let up a little bit? It's like picking on a handicapped kid or something. Yeah, we're going to kick their tails on the diamond, and they're going to console themselves at the Olive Garden. That's enough, really.

Well, shoot - next time you’re in the neighborhood, give me a shout. As long as it’s not -20 out and a couple of feet of snow on the ground, I’m grillin’.
Got a modest selection of cabernets to go with.

A good steak, baked potato and a Caesar salad. Dinner of kings. And a decent cabernet to go with, naturally.

ErnBatavia, I’ve eaten there a number of times. Most people love the place. Can’t tell you how many times folks from outside the area now, have told me how much they do.
I don’t know why, but it never appealed to me. I always have a decent time there, but for some reason it never clicked with me.
I appreciate the fact that you and many others do love the place. I’m glad you have fond memories of it, and that causes me so good thoughts too. It just has never caused that for me.
I realize I’m in the minority on this one. I’m sure you folks are right and I’m the fuddy duddy on this one.

Another steakhouse that I recommend is the Hitching Post in Casmalia, Calif. I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB twice for training and The Hitching Post was my favorite place for steaks. I consider it my second favorite steak place in the Country.

This place is a real treasure. The guy who runs it is/was a postal deliverer. Kinda grumpy but he can make the grub.
He gets his steaks from the Wilson, KS locker. He makes the best raisin bread ever.
Yea, I read the comments as well. Screw em.. Johnson Co. scrum.
One more thing. Be mindful of the days that he is closed. I would call ahead just in case 785-483-6544

I agree, we grill with charcoal and get our steaks at Costco, their NY strips prime. (Not very often of course, they are pretty pricey.)

I'm always hesitant to get involved in these “best of” threads, but we've got a little nowhere steakhouse here in Big Spring, Texas called
KC Steaks & Seafood . All I can say is I like it. The best? Probably not, but they are consistently good.

Yep, grill. Most local delis have better cuts. Often for less than most grocery stores.
