Pastor Vinyard in his Church |
A pastor at a northwest Oklahoma City church who has been a vocal proponent of gun rights has been cleared of wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy at the pastors home. The pastor even put signs on his family's home warning criminals of the danger: From oklahomasentinel.com:
(snip)
The pastor arrived home about 3 p.m. and as he checked his house, he was attacked by the burglar, who had been hiding in a closet in a back bedroom, Prater said.
On December 23, police identified the alleged intruder as 14-year-old Keontre Reese.
Several signs are posted around the pastors home. One on the front door reads, Nothing on this property is worth your life. While on a mission in Africa, Pastor Vinyard's home was invaded and his skull fractured. He and his family cooperated with the robbers, but it was not enough. Highly restrictive gun laws in the country that they were in prevented them from being armed.
Sorry, I was being sarcastic. Seriously, how many “Keontre Resses” can there be?
“wow, 14 years old. that website is amazing.
guns, gang signs, drugs, money piles. honestly, what can you say?”
Well, he was industrious and apparently a budding businessman, anyway.
Not at all. I could in no way see how they were related.
Luke 22:36
The Catholic Church believes that self defense (even the defense of property) can be lethal and I am a Catholic. I have a hard time imagining that there are Christians of any denomination who reject self defense entirely. Can you name one?
Think of it as Evolution in Action!
Out here in The Middle of Nowhere, anyone would have to be NUTS to try to burglarize a home. A shotgun blast would end that forthwith. And guess what! There are no burglaries. I don’t even lock the doors.
” Sorry, I was being sarcastic.”
Oh I knew that, I just saw a chance to run with it.
” Seriously, how many Keontre Resses can there be?”
Considering the subculture we’re discussing, Umm a couple three hundred. A lot more will be named in the next few years.
I looked at all the lovely pictures of Keontre but did not see the one of him laying on a slab in the morgue!
The only thing that is ever going to stop this kind of bs is to prosecute the parents or guardian for THEIR son’s felony behavior just as if the son were acting on remote control.
on a bumper sticker: “your son burglarizes, you go to prison”......no exceptions.
A parent that could not control their kid could petition a court to exempt him/her from responsibility. In that case, and after a hearing, the kid goes straight in to the probation system. The mom or dad then should not get off scot free of dumping their punk on the taxpayer. Accordingly, as long as that kid is in the system, they should have to pay dollars each month sort of like “child support”.
Unless it's Keontre Yoder.
Environmentalists lose lead ammo ruling

WASHINGTON A federal appeals court has ruled against environmentalists who are trying to force the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate spent lead bullets and lead shot used in hunting and shooting sports.
In a decision favorable to gun enthusiasts, the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said Tuesday that environmental groups have suggested no way in which EPA could regulate spent lead bullets and shot without also regulating cartridges and shells.
The Toxic Substances Control Act exempts cartridges and shells from regulation.
The National Rifle Association and much of the pro-gun lobby intervened on the EPA’s side in urging the federal appeals court to uphold the dismissal of a lawsuit by 101 environmentalist organizations.
Given that bullets and shot can become spent only if they are first contained in a cartridge or shell and then fired from a weapon, the environmental groups have identified no way in which EPA could regulate spent bullets and shot without also regulating cartridges and shells, precisely what the law prohibits, said the decision by appeals judge David Tatel, a nominee of President Clinton. The other two judges on the case were Patricia Millett and Cornelia Pillard, both nominees of President Obama.

Peter had one of them. When Peter, misreading the Mt. Olive arrest incident, drew his sword and wounded Malchus, the temple guard. But Jesus did not climb all over Peter like a sword-control fanatic. He just told Peter, "Ok, put your sidearm back in its holster," and fixed up the guard.
The whole PCUSA?
My ex-wife is PCUSA to the bone, but when an ex-boyfriend of her daughter was stalking her, my ex-wife accepted the 410 shotgun I offered her for dealing with his ‘intrusion’ next time. Political correctness floats so long as the rocks of personal assault are not flying. we are seeing an increase of those stones, so look for more ‘personal protection’ episodes, some from previously dyed in the wool liberals. ... Come to think of it, ‘that’s a good thing’.
Nope. We have reform schools for children uncontrollable by the parents. There is one about a mile from me. One of its teachers was my neighbor a few years ago, and we had some interesting chats on his role in the system.
Howevr, your proposition is unworkable, and also unScriptural, IMHO. If you want to check Ezekiel 18 out:
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him" (Ezek. 18:20 AV).
Blessed are the peacemakers, for their caliber is high.
Yep!
Dat ‘lil homeboy wanted to be a playa. He played...& he paid. Be nice if his homeboys learned a lesson, or three.
The taxpayers are responsible to deal with the rebellious son. If they won't obey God and execute him, then they must take care of him otherwise. Sounds a bit rough, but that's the OT Scriptural way.
Looking into the NT text, one finds the parable of two sons, one of whom is a prodigal. His father gives him his share of the estate. After blowing it all, he winds up eating slops just to stay alive. No one feeds him freely, when he is not willing to work, not father, and not the public. That's the NT solution (Lk. 15:17).
Mark. Thanks for posting.
