Can someone explain to me who Mark Levin is always taking pot shots at at the beginning of his show? Is it Michael Savage?
If so, what's the deal between the two? I rarely ever get to listen to Savage at work.
Been going on for some time - Savage used to snark at Levin, too. Dunno about recently.
If it’s a battle of wits, it will be short. Can’t stand Savage.
They’ve been taking shots at each other for while. I think it got started when Savage called Hannity names as Levin and Hannity are buds.
This is an on again, off again thing that means utterly nothing. When Savage has a book to sell, he gets a little lippy towards the others and if you listen to Savage, you know sometimes his mouth gets just a little ahead of him.
It started with Savage attacking Hannity and Rush, etc. They never responded to it, but Levin did for them. I like Savage, but he has an inferiority complex and he should not. When he is on, he may be the best radio show in the country.
Granted, I’m more a Levin fan than Savage...
If you want to hear about how tasty a meatball is, listen to Savage.
OTOH, if more interested in fixing the Republic by using the Constitution, then Levin.
I never really put it together. But yea, Mark’s comments about restaurants and food and such do fit Savage’s format.
I’m no fan of Savage. I appreciate that he is out there. But he is genuienely pompass and self absorbed. On the rare occassions when I happened to land on his talk show, I hear him explaining his own PHDs and credentials.
Sometimes I think it's all in jest for the purpose of ratings because I will hear Mark rag on Savage for talking about his dogs or his personal life and then come back doing just that. I don't understand it, but maybe some of the Levin Lounge regulars I've found can help...
Savage used to lie on air about his ratings being better than Mark Levin’s in the same time slot. That’s before Savage lost his time slot. Mark took umbrage and it’s gone on from there. That’s why Mark takes shots at Savage talking about his meatball recipes, supplements he hawks and other nonsense he gets into.
Levin responded because he tends to speak freely, and he viscerally dislikes Savage .
Savage is okay on the rare occasions he takes his meds.
Levin, as usual, is mercilessly accurate in his mockery of Savage’s frankly bizarre ramblings about his bizarre childhood, as well as his stream-of-consciousness patter about mundane events that day, including his choice of meals.
In a battle of wits between the two. . .Savaghe is unarmed.
Well as one who posts just about every M-F the Mark Levin Show Thread, it bafflies me why this in-fighting. Oh well.
Got to remember that Levin is an attorney, and one who worked under Reagan as well. Plus a brilliant author of a number of books. Jealousy maybe on the part Savage?
Savage has always been critical of almost every top 10 conservative talk hosts, his criticism increased ten fold when Savage was banned from Britain, and no talk show hosts stood up for him, or even mentioned it.
I first heard Savage right after 911, I like him very much then, not so much now, tune in maybe 3 or 4 times a year, never make it through an entire show.
Haven’t had the chance to listen to either of them recently, but Savage COULD be really good if he could get over himself for 5 minutes at a time. Mike, we don’t need to hear about how SMART you are... that’s Joe Biden’s schtick. It causes ears to close and channels to be changed.
Mark Levine is always spot on, even though he sounds like an angry bird at times. You can’t refute him.
Actually those are the parts I find most entertaining.
It has been going on a long time.
It is rather petty on the parts of both. The only thing that makes me change a talkradio program faster is when the host is hawking a book. [That had included Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Levin, et al.]
