We won’t do unless it is necessary to save ourselves. That saying of yours is worn out and boring. The state of Texas has more cattle than any other state. I don’t own them and never have. I do have red cowboy boots made in Texas and own Texas land/house free of a mortgage. I was born here 80 years ago. I have worked in Texas politics and helped write a law that determines how votes are counted in every county in this state. You don’t need cattle to contribute to the building of this state to keep it free.
There is an interesting dynamic here. The more rabid liberals may just want to rid the USA of Texas.
Doing so would virtually guarantee the DNC control of the federal government for many election cycles.
Conservatives would move to Texas, and the immediate loss of congressional seats and electoral college votes would give the liberals huge gains.

From your comment, I guess the Colonies had permission from Great Britain before they headed to North America. Is that right?
I’ve met quite a few conservatives who have moved here in the last several years from northeastern liberal states and California, and they love it. They say it feels like home, as in their true conservative mindset type of home, whereas their home state felt like they were in an alien country.(well, aside from the weather.)
A few years ago it would have broken my heart to think Texas might secede, even though I saw it might be necessary to escape from total communistic tyranny. Today, it wouldn’t make me sad as it feels like the country I knew is gone. Young people barely know and love the history of our country, they’ve been taught to be ashamed of it, and have the country thinks its okay to enslave the other half.
My hope would be if Texas ever secedes, and one day other states follow, is that sometime in the future, we might be able to re-form the United States (while correcting some of the things that have gone wrong the last 100 years.)
If not secession, then the Convention of States is another possibility for returning most of the powers to the states that rightly belong there.

Actually, if you read about what happened to them as they were preparing to leave England, remember these were religious people, England was glad to get rid of them, those trouble making religious kooks. Christians built this country and it flourished but the tide is turning now and Christians are once again called religious kooks and Hussein crushes Christians when he can.

We will do our best to deserve that blessing. I know most of our elected state officials, had some kind of interaction with them or know their background, and I know they are true Christians. Actually as I think about it, I think there is only one, Railroad Commissioner, whose background I don’t know. All state elected offices are filled with Republicans, no Democrats.
If this is true, just another reason that we need to establish redoubts of liberty and conservatism to regroup and retrain our youth in Christianity, moral courage, and liberty. Places where we can defend ourselves rather than just going down with the immoral, perverted ship of state that our country has become.

As I’ve stated in previous threads on this topic, I already regard myself a Texan first, an American second. America has become something I don’t even recognize anymore... a government that is becoming a corrupt, one-party banana republic, and a culture that is such a noxious, degenerate sewer. It’s rendering all these discussions about politics and elections rather pointless and moot.
With the Obama-voting blue-states embracing such deviancy as fag marriage, I’d be more than happy to sever connections. A country that has sunk to such depths is a republic I have increasinly little interest in preserving.

With the cowardly RINOs spineless “opposition” to Marxist Mandatory Obamacare, the financial destruction of the US Federal Government is assured.
Thus, the question of a financially rational secession is not if, but when?
2014 would be an excellent year for Texas to secede, as the Obamacare Employer Mandated punishment tax will not yet have dumped tens of millions of employees into the abyss of the Mandatory Insurance “Exchanges.”
In this way, our proportion of the 17-18 Trillion dollar National Debt would about half of what it would be if we waited for the second 5 year Marxist Democrat Plan to kick in.
A regional “State” for Texas to be a part of would be all of the current States that the XL Pipeline will soon run through.
Since the NINE SUPREMES chose to ignore the US Constitution by rewriting Obamacare “fine” to Obamacare “tax,” there is no longer a legal US Supreme Court of record.
This Autumn, during the Reid-Obama shutdown of a small portion of the US Federal Government, it became obvious that the US Military was held in low esteem by Obama, as Commander In Chief. Thus, complicating expected Military loyalty for future Domestic expeditions.
As the Marxist Democrat-controlled Administration and Senate continue to spend more than their income, the Texas share of that National Debt will continue to rise. Hence, the sooner Texas secedes, the better, financially.
The ethics are fairly straight forward: we do not transport crude oil, natural gas, or any refined petroleum product outside of the borders of Texas or the borders of the States that officially join the secession of Texas.
In a similar manner that “An Army travels on its stomach,” the World travels on oil, a fact which will deter aggression and encourage negotiation.
Thus, Texas would be in a position of strength during the bloodless secession negotiations with the Marxist Democrats, and their loyal RINOs.
Once each State has paid off their share of the pre-secession National Debt, the financially solid former spine of old United States, discussions could begin with other regional groups of former States on matters that would not involve anything to do with the Ponzi Welfare System that bankrupted the former United States of America.

Everyone feels as you. It is a very sad time, one we could never imagine coming. It seems God has been very quiet over our land and we know why. We have as a nation shut the door on Him. Lord have mercy. America as we knew it, returns when He does, but, we must open the door.
