A recent study noted that the majority of people have enough food in their pantries to feed their household for about three days and that seemingly stable societies are really just nine meals from anarchy. With most of us dependent on just-in-time transportation systems to always be available, few ever consider the worst case scenario.
For tens of thousands of east coast residents that worst case scenario is now playing out in real-time. No longer are images of starving people waiting for government handouts restricted to just the third-world.
In the midst of crisis, once civilized societies will very rapidly descend into chaos when essential infrastructure systems collapse.
Though the National Guard was deployed before the storm even hit, there is simply no way for the government to coordinate a response requiring millions of servings of food, water and medical supplies
Many east coast residents who failed to evacuate or prepare reserve supplies ahead of the storm are being forced to fend for themselves.
Frustration and anger have taken hold, as residents have no means of acquiring food or gas and thousands of trucks across the region remain stuck in limbo

A while back I had an involuntary fast for 8 days. I lost a lot of weight and craved frosted flakes something fierce.

Seriously, this is where your planning comes in. Determine who you can trust, have them over as house guests a few times, and make the determination that if they're good folks, let them know they can hole up with you. There is safety in numbers; all that lone-wolf crap you hear from "patriots" is just their epitaphs.

STORE SOME WATER(drinking water) in whatever you have to store some water IN..
The tap water will still be running.. probably..
Water is much more important than food.. or even ammo..

you can have a large group of people moving in on a remote, standalone farmhouse too. the ones that can get there may be tougher too.

They will be basically immobile after about 3 to 5 days when gasoline supplies run out. I doubt they are going to ride a bicycle or walk 20 miles to loot I doubt most of them could. Before that time they probably won’t think to go farther afield. Indeed, I would bet that most of them would wait for the government to come help until after the gasoline supplies had been basically used up. So after a week or so being 100 to 150 miles away from a democrat controlled large city would probably be far enough to severely discourage the thugs as they lack the organization to mount a coordinated looting attack over distances greater than a few city blocks and even if they had the organization they wouldn’t have the fuel to get the job done - at least it appears that way to me.
2 weeks in and the liberals would be eating rats, and stray dogs and cats. Two weeks after that and they would be literally eating each other.
Never fear though those eaten would still vote for the next 16 democratic party candidates for president
The real issue would be if city leaders started organizing looting raids. But even then fuel becomes an issue
Honestly. I have no sympathy for them anymore. Are there still good people in those cities, yes but they should take a lesson from Lot, just leave, don’t look back - just leave
Liberal parasites are unlikely to come in those numbers. My guess is small gangs, and those will get chewed up pretty quickly by the bad luck of picking the wrong target. The problem with 100 thugs attacking at once is that they won't do that in the first three days, and after that most target homes will have more ammo than food. They will end up fighting each other for what little food they get when they take a single family home, and they will split into smaller groups or kill each other over food. Unless they have an LDS roster, they will not expect much after a dangerous battle, or they can burn you out and get nothing at all.
I have five watch dogs and one guard/attack dog. The watch dogs roam the property and make noise if something moves. If that noise happens, I show up with the attack dog and two other well armed/equipped, well trained young males that have a practiced plan.
#4 buckshot is good also. Actually more effective because of better odds of hitting a vital organ than with 00 (according to the FBI, I am told).
