Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D-N.Y.) said Thursday that all options, including confiscation and mandatory sales to the state, would be on the table next month when the New York State Legislature debates new gun control measures. The comments were specifically aimed at what might happen should stricter rules be imposed on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
The governor said he plans on proposing a package of gun legislation in his State of the State address on Jan. 9.
Theres a big difference of opinion on these issues, Gov. Cuomo said today during a radio interview with Albanys WGDJ-AM.
Mr. Cuomo explained that because gun control hasnt been a recent topic of discussion in the capital, he has chosen to reach out to lawmakers to see where they stand on the issue before he submits his final proposal.

“What am I missing?”
Many pissed off armed citizens shooting back at the armed agents.
There would be a lot of causalities on both sides, and a guerilla war would occur.
We should go to the original definition of assault rifle, The Sturmgewehr 44. It was a selective fire weapon and paved the way for Kalashnikov’s fine tuning in 47. They were automatic weapons as was the M2Carbine. A semi auto is not by any definition an assault weapon. In NYS the definition includes pistol grip, bayonet lug, and folding stock. Any one of those is allowed. TNT Gunnery in Wantagh NY was charged with after market folding stock additions a few months back. The Ruger mini 14 has never been used by any military in the world yet it is now considered an assault rifle as will the ruger .40 cal carbine. The left will stretch the definition to include any weapon that is not bolt or lever action and carries more than five rounds. They will say that’s all any hunter needs. Confiscation is coming.

“I wonder if Cuomo knows so-called assault rifles are banned in NY.”
When did that happen?

once more with 'papers please' and most [but NOT all] will turn em in to avoid the mandatory felony...
This is bluster from the Prince of Gnu Yak. He will get the sycophantic Legislature to go along and the murder rate here will skyrocket.
It’s apparently not even legal here to instruct someone on how to bump fire. As a freeper once memorably said, the New York State gunshop owner who was fined for this suffered a real first: the abrogating of his 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendment rights at the same time.
1. Who's going to do your confiscation?
2. How many New Yorkers are you willing to kill who oppose your confiscations?
3. Do you pay NY law enforcement enough to die for your policies?
4. Do you and your political hacks have the guts to do your own “wet work”?
Are you being facetious or do you seriously not know that George Pataki signed an “assault weapon” ban several years ago?
What your missing is that the scenario you played out would be the first shots.....no doubt...
Then, a large number of us would go “hunting”....switch from defense to offense....
This would not be a “civil war”, this would be a realignment of government....
Let me guess......he will not be the one collecting them.
I couldn't give two sh!ts what those black robes have to say about my God-given rights. I don't grant them the power to rule one way or the other on them.
I’ve read that before—and it’s well worth re-reading it. Thanks for posting it!

Or suicide...
That’s one powerful message in that image.
I know Pataki signed the bill against larger tha 10 round mags. You can walk into ANY gunstore and buy an AR-15 ThereNY compliant.
I just read that Want Ad Digest pulled all gun ads. You could pick up pre-ban AR’s & AK’s at will.
“...Confiscation Could Be an Option’...”
So could civil war, gov’na...
The fact that such an incident would spark millions upon millions of Americans to fully implement the exercise of their 2nd Amendment rights.
