American Tinderbox (Black "Flash Mobs" and the Coming Backlash)
The American Interest ^ | 8/7/2011 | Walter Russell Mead

Posted on 08/08/2011 3:14:44 PM PDT by mojito

For some time now, residents of some US cities have noted occasional incidents of seemingly random, racially motivated violence in which young Black males are involved. The hot weather and bad economy seem to be combining to generate a small but possibly significant uptick this year. The national media are doing their best to avoid looking too closely at this disturbing phenomenon, and perhaps for good reason. What the United States doesn’t need is a media firestorm that triggers copycat violence.

Nevertheless some attention should be paid.

Any one have a good suggestion on an after market recoil pad for a Mossy 500?

Tough to beat a quality Pachmyr pad. Not the cheapest, but worth it. Made a world of a difference on an old 1917 Enfield 30/06.

Just make sure the pad you choose won't tend to drag on your clothing as you bring it up to your shoulder.

Cant wait until one of these flash mobs encounter a CCW holder

Then it would be WAR. Only 3 things happen in wars:

  1. People Die
  2. People Die
  3. People Die
I would want to be Miles away. Once people start dying, it tends to spread to both sides. The ones with the least to lose tend to be the most aggressive at that point. It will not end well.

Here's the solution:

Cut 'disability, SSI, welfare, and food stamps by 10% in any 'community' that "flash mobs" anyone. For three months.

Trust me, the 'community' will get off their collective black butts and take care of these young black losers when it hits their pocketbooks.

These well-known social conditions breed anger and lawlessness.

Yeah, I'm sure the same brain dead reasoning would be used if Tea Party members started beating up black losers... Oh, wait - we'd be held responsible. To a higher standard.

Liberals don't hold blacks to any standards because the black criminal vote props up elite dems....

Sweet! Too bad only law enforcement are the only ones who can get the full-auto version.

"Any one have a good suggestion on an after market recoil pad for a Mossy 500?"

~~~~~~~~~
Ever hear of "Sorbothane"?
A guy at work had a black 1/2" sheet of the stuff, (sort of a cross between rubber and a gel) and he would put his hand on the workbench, cover it with the Sorbothane, pick up the biggest Crescent wrench he could find -- and proceed to whack the Sorbothane over his hand so hard that things on the workbench bounced.
Then he would say, "Didn't feel a thing!"
So, I tried it myself (starting off with light taps) -- and he was right: I didn't feel a thing! -- even when I pounded so hard that folks came in to see what all the racket was...
The stuff is truly astounding in its ability to absorb and disperse shock energy!
Google "Sorbothane recoil pad" -- or start here:
Disclaimer: I have zero connection to Sorbothane -- other than being a materials scientist who wishes he had a sheet of it to play with...
Now that would be fun to watch.....
Taking a life is nothing to be savored or enjoyed. Although they are completely justified, individuals who kill assailants seldom feel good about the act. Granted, it is preferable to victimhood.
Rumor has it, it also happened in Detroit. Unfortunately, nobody can tell.
Well, also because it simply isn’t the hip or progressive thing to do to speak the obvious truth about blacks.
I picked up several small squares 6"x6"x1/4" from Midway Shooting supply a few years back to make custom recoil and cheek pads. Amazing stuff. Audiophiles use it for vibration isolators.
It’s easy for a woman to conceal a weapon. Go on the net and look for the purse that allows you to carry it in the fold of your purse. All you have to do is stick your hand in, like a muff, and you have it in your hand. Unfortunately you end up putting a hole in a nice leather purse. It’s easier on your unprotected ears though.
Didn't know the "Kickeeze" trade name for Sorbothane recoil pads until I googled it (see my #126).
Also, my son has fore and aft pistol grips on his Mossberg 590, and firing it "from the hip" smooths out the recoil quite well. BTW, he does amazingly well shooting clays that way with it...
I was given an old .303 British SMLE that somebody "sporterized" by cutting it down and removing everything (like the bayonet mount forend) they could. I've never seen anyone shoot more than three rounds through it -- and that actually produces nausea for most folks! (Now I know why the previous owner was so "generous"...) :-(
Guess I'll see if a "Kickeeze" Sorbothane pad for it will turn it into a usable piece...
You won’t notice the recoil while in action. You may not even hear the weapon going off. <<
and your eyesight will improve 100% too...
