Also, my son has fore and aft pistol grips on his Mossberg 590, and firing it "from the hip" smooths out the recoil quite well. BTW, he does amazingly well shooting clays that way with it...
I was given an old .303 British SMLE that somebody "sporterized" by cutting it down and removing everything (like the bayonet mount forend) they could. I've never seen anyone shoot more than three rounds through it -- and that actually produces nausea for most folks! (Now I know why the previous owner was so "generous"...) :-(
Guess I'll see if a "Kickeeze" Sorbothane pad for it will turn it into a usable piece...
I just googled recoil pads to come up with the Kickeeze pad. I do not have a recoil pad on my 30.06. Seems that the Kickeeze and Limbsaver pads are the two top ranked pads currently available. I need to pick a pad up, but seems every time I have the money to do it, something else more important comes up.
