It does appear that former governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah you betcha Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring. She has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as chief-of-staff for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, and steer her political operation. For the political insiders this is the strongest indication yet that Sarah Palin is seriously laying the groundwork for a serious bid for the white house. Unfortunately, she is probably the most disastrous of the current crop of possible GOP hopefuls and in my humble opinion would stand absolutely no chance in the general election. I will even venture to say that I dont think shell make it out of the primaries. She is mistaking the general support the Right gives her as a person of character and cheerleader Tea Party as political support for a presidential bid. I submit to you the two are not the same and she will find this out the hard way. And if by some miracle she were to get the nod to lead the Republican party into the next general election we will witness a most embarrassing of electoral trouncings since Mondale got crushed by Reagan.
I defend Palin vigorously from the hatred and smears from the Left and admire her commitment to what is right and true. For the most part I share her politics, values, and ideology. And I think she makes a great fundraiser and cheerleader for the Right in general and the Tea Party in particular. But she had her chance for glory and success on the national stage and frankly blew it.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, CALM DOWN!
Sheesh.
Look, I have said this before a million times now: as long as the GOP nominates a full spectrum, across the board conservative, we will win in 2012. That includes, Sarah Palin. And dittos: to place O’Donnell in the same category as Palin and equate Delaware to the whole US voting population is absurd.
Someone, please enlighten me how our conservative candidate gets “creamed”. Of the states listed below, please tell me which ones Obama will carry if, say, Sarah Palin is our nominee. Please? Pretty Please??
Alaska (3), Idaho (4), Utah (6), Arizona (11), Montana (3), Wyoming (3), North Dakota (3), South Dakota (3), Nebraska (5), Kansas (6), Oklahoma (7), Texas (38), Arkansas (6), Louisiana (8), Mississippi (6), Alabama (9), Georgia (16), South Carolina (9), Tennessee (11), Kentucky (8), West Virginia (5), North Carolina (15), Indiana (11), Virignia (13)
That’s 209 Safe Electoral votes. Throw Missouri (10) in there because it has been proven there are enough conservatives in the state to offset KC/StL even when we run a dud like McCain.
Also, with the GOP convention in Tampa (I’m hoping to go), I highly suspect Marco Rubio will be giving a solid keynote speech (if he isn’t on the ticket already). FL is off the table for 2012, the GOP will win it. That’s 248 pretty reliable electoral votes right there.
From this point, there is a clear path to victory which leads through CO and OH.
(1) Winning OH, which is very doable. But more importantly, the GOP nominee (Palin included) must have Tom Tancredo’s backing to be able to win in CO. Both are clearly doable. OH + CO = 275 EV = President Palin
There will be NO blowout in 2012. The EV count may be close, or as Obama’s numbers continue to sink, we may be the ones doing the blowout. As long as we don’t have a RINO on the ticket, we are virtually guaranteed 200+ EV’s, and that assurance can help the GOP go on offensive for real in PA, WI, and MI.
BTTT
I am old enough to remember that Reagan was marginalized, criticized, and lambasted unmercifully in the mainstream press... and there was little if any alternative press. No Rush, no Fox, no internet (Free Republic). So now, faced with a similar attempt to destroy the real threat we will surrender an offering to MSNBC? This time, when we have weapons, we will not fight? Sorry, but I don’t go with the flow, I push back. Wish you were up here with us, the front lines are where the action is.
Sick puppy!
Palin endorsed Fiorina... you know that right? She did it in the PRIMARY.
You must not remember very well. I made it clear that I didn’t like Castle, I just didn’t like O’Donnell either. I didn’t think she had a chance at winning (and I was proven correct), and I thought she had a huge lack of integrity and lied about things she had no reason to lie about. That being the case, I didn’t think she deserved any trust in her purported conservative positions. I also had a huge problem with her prior lawsuits that were initiated on femi-nazi grounds against a Conservative organization.
I recall speaking to a man who had been a delegate, shortly after that convention. That was his response a the time. "We nominated the wrong guy."
+1
It’s not the purported conservative stances that did O’Donnell in, it’s the fact she was a terrible candidate. You can get a conservative candidate to win in DE, but they absolutely must be able to articulate that message across the voting spectrum. It was clear before the primary that she wasn’t going to be able to do that. Because some people pointed this out, they got attacked and became a scapegoat for her inevitable defeat.
I’m going to probably say something controversial here, but the Tea Party in Delaware did themselves no favors here in jumping on her bandwagon early. You can’t convince me out of the many active political conservatives in DE that this was the best they could come up with. The desire to take Castle down was rightfully strong, but there was absolutely no general election strategy in place to win the Seat.
This is what Karl Rove was trying to relay. He’s a numbers cruncher and knew what O’Donnell was going to be up against and what the likely result was going to be. He was lambasted from the TP leadership with “how dare you come into our back-yard and try to tell us how to handle our politics”. They don’t want to admit it, but Rove made some sense. They tried to make it like Rove was anti-conservative, when that wasn’t the case. If the Tea Party of Delaware had had their “Marco Rubio”-style conservative candidate, Rove would have been behind them 110% because a Marco Rubio style conservative had the patience, charisma, and character to educate and articulate to the differing voting masses that would actually make them competitive. Christine O’Donnell was clearly not that kind of candidate and her track record showed it to be true. You didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Yet, if you pointed this out, you got attacked as a RINO or some kind of Castle-sympathizer.
Then why shouldn't she just get out there and try? Sure she was shaky for the first few weeks in the campaign of 2008, but believe me, she's grown a lot since then. I think the MSM will have egg all over their faces if they keep up the 'she's stupid' mantra, then she goes on the talk shows, and gets interviewed by the newsreaders, and just blows everyone away with the depth and breadth of her knowledge. Suddenly folks out there will start saying "But they've been telling me she was stupid! What else are they lying about?"
I say give Sarah a chance. She believes in having a very spirited debate in the primaries, but then getting behind the winner, when it's all said and done, so that the Democrat can be defeated!
Which of my claims were outlandish, or inflated? She held several elected offices, culminating in the Governorship of the largest state in the Union. True, that is largest in land area, but also the one with the most natural resources of which she was a pretty good steward. She didn't allow the oil and gas companies to roll the natives of AK anymore, as they had been doing for years. She figured that if they were going to take Alaska's natural resources, they should compensate the PEOPLE of Alaska for them.
You can scoff at her experience all you want, but she actually HAS some executive experience, unlike the present occupant of the White House.
As for her being the only Gov. who never finished a term, how many other Govs. of Alaska were being personally bankrupted by a rival political party? The people who spearheaded all of the lawsuits and ethics violations charges were involved in President Obama's campaign in AK, and after the election, did everything they could to try to destroy Sarah Palin. She saved the people of Alaska well over $150K by leaving office, since she knew that as soon as she did, the lawsuits would stop, and she was right.
Yep, ostensibly because of her pro-life views.
But that doesn't change the fact Carly was the RINO's "electable" favorite...
Cheers!
I was one...first time in my life I had a yard sign ...just because her name was on it...
So Palin endorsed a RINO, because of her “electability?” Wasn’t Chuck DeVore the more Conservative candidate in the race?
Moreover, can you explain Palin’s endorsement of Karen Handel, who was extremely soft on pro-life issues and had been paling around with the Log Cabin Sodomites, over the very conservative Nathan Deal (who ended up winning anyway.)
I think I know why she did it, but I’d be interested to hear your take on why she did it.
As far as Handel goes, I never heard of her. So who cares?
Cheers!
more like Dave, the Dupe.....
“
The reality that Palin is poor presidential material does not make one less of a conservative.”
Be that as it may, the erroneous belief that Palin is poor presidential material casts doubt upon one’s wisdom.
DeVore is pro-life, and was far more anti-establishment than Fiorina. So why Fiorina over DeVore?
Handel was the RINO running for Governor in Georgia, whom Palin endorsed over the much more Conservative Nathan Deal, who ended up winning anyway.
Blah blah blah... I puke in the author’s face.

The thought of Palin getting ‘creamed’, just turned me on a little.
Now I hadn’t thought about that. Hmmmmmm.
