"This is weird. Glenn Beck, who became a Mormon a few years back, is now using his program to promote Mormon archaeology. If you click on these links you can view it. He also has a conspiracy theory about how science, government, commerce, and religion, not in the least, the Smithsonian Institute, purposefully altered history. My good friend Kurt Van Gorden sent me the links below, as well as the descriptions of what he is saying in the videos.
In the first video, about half way through, I about fell out of my chair when Beck referenced Adair’s History of the American Indians ( imagine! ) as proof of similarity between Native American ceremonies and Israelites. He forgot to mention that it predates the BOM by several decades (It was written arounde 1765!). He then ties the Egyptian pyramid math to the Indian mounds (only FARMS and the Maxwell Institute have ventured in this arena, which instantly identified his sources for me). Then in the second video, he uses the fraudulent Newark Stone and the fraudulent Bat Creek stone Hebrew inscriptions as proof of Hebrew among the Indians."

I think for me the 60’s are when I began fighting this onslaught. Still a young Christian wet behind the ears I fought hard to save a young gal from getting an abortion. It was a brutal situation. In the end ‘the Pastor’ of her church and her mother drove this young gal to the abortion place and the childs life was taken. Two weeks later the young gal was killed when she stepped out into traffic. I often wondered how the Pastor handled this event with the young gals mother who promoted the whole ordeal...what they both must have felt and thought...but I never saw them again after the day they went for the abortion.
It is not easy fighting against the wiles of the enemy and his influneces in our world and on peoples very souls. But you do learn about the war...which you are correct is a heavenly battle we see playing out here.
I think the church carries some responsibility for our failures....the more I grew in the Lord the harder it became to find a church which was actively equipping the Saints for warfare. Too many were sliding into secularism and the political momentum of each doing there own thing. Then the Charismatic movement hit which went to the other extreme. There was a real shift in what faith and church was and is...and it's mission. It grew silent more and more...the gospel still presented but arming the saints was almost nil.
It has been said when the student is ready God provides the teacher. There are fewer teachers to draw on these days who are solid in matters of the faith. But we need to remember that Gods Spirit still moves within individual Christians who are on the march behind the scenes....they may not get the notoriety but they are working fast and hard.
As for these threads...well it is online and there is noway we can know if those posting are the real deal or just playing the rolls they adopt to be part of the arena. But even here we learn and see the battle...who is real or not that post....well...the Lord knows and that's sufficient.
The times we are living is evident...the march is on toward that day as we see more and more evidences of...but we are told how men will be and the climate around us as Christians ....it is what it is because He said it would be so. Though I did not expect to see it as so in my lifetime, this does show that maybe His word “this generation will in no wise pass away until all these things come upon you”...may well be my own generation and yours.
Islam is going to infiltrate...that's a given..and it will join with the world churches who are marching to unite into a universal faith...for a time. Christians will have to decide if they march with the crowd who claim Christianity and mask as one...or march with the Christ of Christianity.
I think given the circumstances and times we live that we are doing well for the faith...the truth is getting out there....what people do with that truth is what we see on this thread and others. More will go the other way...it is their choice but the world makes it easy now to go in the wrong direction. ‘People are lovers of themselves”.
My statement isn’t a spin rather very clear and precise...but you might have seen it as so given the ground you are standing on is shifting. That would distort ones perceptions.

Sometimes it takes awhile to snuff them out, as you know, and while that is occurring you learn to see the deceptions and the wiles of how the enemy of mens souls works on the hearts and minds of people.
I often think these threads are as much to “arm” those of us in His service as to impact those who are mislead. The Mormons seem to always lose the debates because they don't debate very much at all. Hard to stand on shifting sand.
Interesting Nosterrex...good you have the years of experience to recognize this in Beck, which accounts for some of his erratic behavior from time to time I would suspect. But I like what you have stated here. Makes good sense and is helpful to understanding Beck much more. Thanks for posting this.
Jesus was quick to speak out to the religious leaders of His day who were promoting that which opposed the truths HE was expounding. Actually he did little to try to persuade them to Himself....rather he spoke firmly and used language that in His day would be considered offensive to those teaching falsehoods.. the intention was to expose these and those promoting them. When he was finished they knew he had called them on what they were promoting.....they wanted to kill him for that.
When truth stands in the face of lies and falsehoods there will indeed be a clash....reasons are obvious....nothing has changed from when Christ opposed false teachings to now. Those who were willing to hear were instructed and learned. Those who opposed Him and the truth He called them out. “White washed hypocrites”....”Brood of vipers”...and He revealed their hypocrisy's time and again.... We follow Him likewise.
You could have posted that in fewer words.

Perhaps I could have....however I enjoy communicating and using my time to do so...I am not privey to the vocabulary usage others more educated than I have attained...I use far more words than necessary perhaps. Goes with the territory.
As a catholic I am certain you not only are free to read the Bible, but you most likely will enjoy doing so.

OK, I’ll tell you straight up. The comment was sarcasm. If you are too dense to see that I was pointing out that by dividing the conservative side at this point and driving away the Mormons or any other sector of the conservative side then perhaps it’s best you not say anything. At this point in this country we need to attract people to this forum to gain information that they can bolster their knowledge. When we make conservatives unwelcome we do our side absolutely no good.

And I have never seen ANY Mormon produce just what was supposed to be UNTRUE about PRESBYTERIANism; either.
The data SHOULD be out there for SOMEone to see; if it ever existed.
But the 'disruption' is mis=directed.
It appears that PRO-Mormon folks think that Beck's CONSERVATIVE views are being dissed; but, there is NOTHING in this thread at all that can be shown that backs up that idea.
