I think for me the 60’s are when I began fighting this onslaught. Still a young Christian wet behind the ears I fought hard to save a young gal from getting an abortion. It was a brutal situation. In the end ‘the Pastor’ of her church and her mother drove this young gal to the abortion place and the childs life was taken. Two weeks later the young gal was killed when she stepped out into traffic. I often wondered how the Pastor handled this event with the young gals mother who promoted the whole ordeal...what they both must have felt and thought...but I never saw them again after the day they went for the abortion.
It is not easy fighting against the wiles of the enemy and his influneces in our world and on peoples very souls. But you do learn about the war...which you are correct is a heavenly battle we see playing out here.
I think the church carries some responsibility for our failures....the more I grew in the Lord the harder it became to find a church which was actively equipping the Saints for warfare. Too many were sliding into secularism and the political momentum of each doing there own thing. Then the Charismatic movement hit which went to the other extreme. There was a real shift in what faith and church was and is...and it's mission. It grew silent more and more...the gospel still presented but arming the saints was almost nil.
It has been said when the student is ready God provides the teacher. There are fewer teachers to draw on these days who are solid in matters of the faith. But we need to remember that Gods Spirit still moves within individual Christians who are on the march behind the scenes....they may not get the notoriety but they are working fast and hard.
As for these threads...well it is online and there is noway we can know if those posting are the real deal or just playing the rolls they adopt to be part of the arena. But even here we learn and see the battle...who is real or not that post....well...the Lord knows and that's sufficient.
The times we are living is evident...the march is on toward that day as we see more and more evidences of...but we are told how men will be and the climate around us as Christians ....it is what it is because He said it would be so. Though I did not expect to see it as so in my lifetime, this does show that maybe His word “this generation will in no wise pass away until all these things come upon you”...may well be my own generation and yours.
Islam is going to infiltrate...that's a given..and it will join with the world churches who are marching to unite into a universal faith...for a time. Christians will have to decide if they march with the crowd who claim Christianity and mask as one...or march with the Christ of Christianity.
I think given the circumstances and times we live that we are doing well for the faith...the truth is getting out there....what people do with that truth is what we see on this thread and others. More will go the other way...it is their choice but the world makes it easy now to go in the wrong direction. ‘People are lovers of themselves”.
