Sarah Palin: Union Brothers and Sisters: Your Leadership Doesn’t Get It – You Deserve Better
facebook ^ | Friday January 15, 2010 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 01/15/2010 10:14:44 AM PST by Bigtigermike

In the latest to come out of D.C.’s backroom health care deals, President Obama yesterday cut a doozy of a deal with labor union bosses. The fed’s health care plan must be so bad that even union bosses had to go to D.C. to say they wanted out. So... to keep their support for a flawed plan they got an exemption to provisions in the deal that others did not. Small business owners, our families running America’s mom & pops, did not get this deal. Ask yourself: why did union bosses get special treatment? And when did our country’s unions get on the wrong track with moves like this that hurt their good members and put them in such a bad light?

Good hard-working, pro-free-market, pro-America union members should join in opposition to their union bosses’ sweetheart deal. Coming from a union background and living in a world with many union memberships among my family and friends, I know that average members will be embarrassed by their bosses’ deal, which basically only delays the heavy tax on their health care plans until 2018 and in the meantime unfairly leaves many fellow Americans in a much less “enviable” position.

Union members don’t want to stick it to non-union colleagues in the private and public sector. Their union leadership is not helping them in the long run, they’re certainly not helping the rest of America, and unfortunately some union bosses are making all union members look bad, selfish, and anti-business with this Big Government backroom deal.

.........I know that ordinary union members don’t want to hurt their fellow Americans, just as ordinary Nebraskans didn’t want to stick it to the rest of the country with a sweetheart deal on Medicaid subsidies. I urge union members to make their voices heard. Please, call your leadership – don’t put up with these special-interest politics – tell them to fight for all Americans who want common sense health care reform, not this flawed boondoggle.

Don’t like Wikipedia, but this most likely accurate.

Boondoggle (project)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

A boondoggle is a project that wastes time and money. The term arose from a 1935 New York Times article that claimed over $3 million had been spent on recreational activities for the jobless as part of the New Deal. Among these activities were crafts classes, where the production of “boon doggles” (described in the article as various utilitarian “gadgets” made with cloth or leather) was taught.

Agree with Mrs. Palin... But why does it seem that Sarah Palin is the only Conservative and/or Republican voice speaking up about this today? WHY?!

Maybe I missed it if there were others. Perhaps if Mr. Steele could take time off from his spa treatment and book tour today he may say something? What of all the other so-called leaders.

I really wish the rest of the GOP, instead of constantly trashing her, would stand up, grow a pair and say “You know what, she’s right” the GOP is being too damn politically correct, afraid of going after Obama in fear of being called a racist. There are some Conservative voices speaking out, but not enough

I remember an article a couple of days ago about Mitt and how this article quoted some of his top supporters in essence saying that Mitt was going to be CAREFUL in what he does, and not support many candidates this year but take the CAUTIOUS ROAD!

Because she is the only one brave enough to speak out. She is unafraid of facing them and calling them to see the truth..

God bless and protect Sarah Palin, help her in this day., in Jesus name, amen.

thanks to collectivism and government interventionist statism, the country gets group conflict and warfare between pressure groups and special interest groups

Too bad. She really missed an opportunity to scold the Obama Machine on the fact that this plan is unconstitutional. They can’t make a law for some people and not others. Period. Fourteenth Amendment.

Instead she recommends that union membership call their leadership. Yeah, there’s a plan that is sure to work.

I like Sarah as much as everyone else here, but sometimes she just misses the deeper view.

Just think about this: If Sarah were not around to speak up for us, we would be forced to depend on leadership from Mittens, McLame, Newt, and the Huckster.
May God bless and protect this woman. She is an invaluable voice/person/leader that the country desperately needs during these dark days.

This is EXACTLY what she should be doing, and so far “she hasn’t set a foot wrong”.
All these Facebook statements need is to get disseminated and distributed, and quoted here and there.
They won’t go on forever, and the more they get noticed, the more the Left will dump on them and challenge her to defend them in unfriendlier venues than the pages of Facebook and the Internet. By that time, she may well be ready to move onto Phase Two.
