PAT ROBERTSON: HAITI SURRENDERED TO SATAN AND SO IS CURSED
TruthInConviction ^ | Jan 13 | J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Posted on 01/13/2010 1:25:50 PM PST by freedomyes

If our nation continues to turn its face against God, it will pay severely with divine curses.

There is an obvious, pressing need for a spiritual revival to engulf America; only then will divine blessings return to this country.

Obviously you just cherry pick the passages of Scripture that support your unrealistic, utopian view ...

I cited Job (which specifically speaks about comforting, rather than condemning, the suffering) because it colored my opinion of the situation, you cited Jeremiah because it colored yours ... how is our relative scriptural “cherry-picking” particularly different?

I am hardly a utopian. I am well aware of religious and moral problems in Haiti. Bottom line — kicking someone when they’re down doesn’t seem like a particularly Christian value. Right or not, Robertson chose a really bad time to become holier than thou, and comes off as an obnoxious buffoon. Christians should have more class than that.

"google it yourself for plenty of info."

I did, and just did it again.

Plenty of people are attributing the quote to Robertson, but I found no one sourcing it.

Not saying he didn't say it, just that this article - like the others I found - did not source the quote.

Perhaps I'm just too "old fashioned" for life in the Bloggoshpere, but I like to know the source for such attributions.

I’ve said several times and posted elsewhere over several months now... that Obama is the judgment of God upon the nation.

It surely fits...

and i agree completely.

this muslim obama phenomenon is multi-dimensional. we mortals will not be able to figure out its complete horrific impact until time passes.

but now we are being impacted by his evil presence. it is terrible. those mob hysteriacs who drove him into the white house were brain dead.

who would have EVER envisioned a muslim enemy to the republic governing this nation? now he brings into his shadow govt demons—just plain old fashioned demons who hate our christian heritage country and are doing everything to side in with islam world rule—in other beheading the democracy.

only God can save us if the people repent and turn to God. otherwise, God will let us live with the evil consequences of sin.

let those who hate God and the Bible rant and rave at such logic. God will not be mocked.

Please forgive me. I do not intend to be confrontational. We are on the same team after all. I don’t mean to sound hard-hearted and non-caring regarding the plight of the Haitian people during this terrible ordeal. In fact, my prayers are with them and their family members wherever they may be. I do believe that we are living in the last of the last days and that God’s hand of mercy is being lifted from our Great Nation. Maybe Pat Robertson was a bit hasty in what he said regarding Haiti, but I’m not going to label Pat Robertson a loon. We live in such an analytical world where there has to be a black and white explanation for every event. Even Christians have fallen into this trap. But God does not operate in the “natural”...God operates in the “SUPERNATURAL”. Let’s not take our focus off of that fact. You are right...Now is the time that the Haitian people need to see the Love of Christ manifested in a very tangible way. Thank you for helping me regain my focus. But I believe that Pat Robertson’s ministry will contribute substantially to the Haitians during this ordeal.

No... no kidding here... having Obama is place as President is a curse from God, meant to degrade and punish this nation for its evil ways.

Does that mean his reelection is assured? Guess I don't need to vote

Y’know, I like Pat, but he occasionally utters something like this and it just makes it harder for our side...

Our side. Politically? Perhaps it would make sense to separate from Pat as a political "conservative".

How assured are you that the nation will repent? LOL...

But, really, Obama may not be re-elected. We may get someone worse... ooops...

I take it you are not a Christian and do not believe in the Bible as being the authoritative Word of God. People thought the same thing of Jeremiah the prophet when he preached and warned of the impending doom upon Israel because they had estranged themselves from God and His precepts. All this Pat Robertson bashing is baffling to me.

Don't know about SnakeDoctor, but I'm not. I find the Pat=Jeremiah allusion absurd. Please, show me Pat's prophesies. I'd prefer his warning to the Hatian's of an impending earthquake should they (they includes a large number of Catholics) not turn away from satan. I'll settle for a similar prophesy about Katrina.

That said, the only issue should be his association with the political right. Absent that, he can make any nutball statements he wants. And apologize a couple days later.

PS, a pre 9/11 prophesy regarding the 9/11 attacks would work too. Katrina, 9/11, Americans suck as bad as the Hatians.

No worries mate ... happens to the best of us. I’ve been known to condemn when I should comfort on many an occasion.

There, but for the Grace of God, go I.

It's a little off the thread topic, but who? I'm hard pressed to think of anyone remotely relevant in either party that would be worse.

His association with Christ and Christianity is more worrisome than his association with “the political right”. Condemnation of the aggrieved does not reflect well on Christ or His followers. WWJD?

Politics is not everything (and, honestly, it isn’t even close to the most important concern).

You're right, I can't think of anyone worse. But, then again, at one time I couldn't think of anyone worse than Hillary either... :-)

You’re right, I agree completely. I was commenting in the context of a political forum and missing what for many would be the more important issue.

Why can’t blog pimps use their own name when they sign up here? Is it because they think we won’t notice the 2-4 daily blog articles posted by Swank, Jr on his blog which are in turn posted by freedomyes on FR?

I noticed this blog pimp back when he was only about 3 weeks old here. He never did answer my questions.
