An 8-year-old boy has been suspended from school and forced to undergo a psychological evaluation after he drew a picture of Jesus Christ on the cross. A teacher at Lowell Maxham Elementary School in Taunton, Mass., said the second-grade student created a violent drawing, the Taunton Daily Gazette reported. The boy's picture portrayed a crucified Jesus with Xs over his eyes to indicate that he had died on the cross. The child's father, outraged at the school's action, asked to remain anonymous to protect his son. He said his boy drew the picture after returning from a family trip to see the Christmas display at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, a Christian retreat. When the teacher asked students to draw something that reminded them of Christmas on Dec. 2, the boy recalled his trip and created a portrait of Christ on the cross. But it would work out really swell if the kid sang praises to Allah. The teacher would have given him a gold star for being so enlightened.
Of course it was a violent drawing, Jesus died a violent death that we all deserve..

Maybe the teacher would rather see a picture of an Islamist cutting off the head of a Christian

Assuming that your unsourced assertion is true; what is wrong with that? A Christian child identifying with Christ's suffering on the cross in a drawing sounds rather normal and healthy to me.

And your point is? I didn’t make any contention contrary to what you redundantly point out.
I did not say it was wrong. I was just correcting the story. They had to make it a little more than it was. The AP version of this story has a photo of the drawing. It has a sign on the cross which says “Jake.” I think it was a ridiculous thing for the authorities to do, but the article should state the facts accurately. Apparently they thought the facts they made up were more provocative.
There is a picture of the drawing on the WND site and I don’t see the name “Jake” anywhere on it. Looks like there is a “J” on the sign above Jesus. I suppose that might stand for “Jake.” Or “Jesus.”
