Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee enjoys the first victory on Super Tuesday for the Republicans as he takes all 18 delegates in the state of West Virginia, winning 52% of the vote, although rumors abound regarding the McCain campaign's possible instruction to their delegates to switch to his side.
Mitt Romney finished second with 47% of the vote, followed by McCain at 1%.
Rumors are circulating that the McCain campaign instructed their delegates to defect over to Mike Huckabee's side as to avoid a Romney victory. Nationally, McCain is significantly ahead of Huckabee and can afford giving the state's 18 delegates to Huckabee, but certainly not to Romney, who was originally in the lead when polling began in West Virginia by a wide margin and trails McCain nationally by only 17 delegates.

Interesting. I was starting to thin Romney would win all the Caucuses but it wouldn’t help if McCain wins all the elections... However, if Romney is gonna turn things around and win California, as looks possible now, McCain’s got to stop Romney from winning every Caucus.
What this really means is all the campaigns are thoroughly in the hands of professional strategists. no more grass roots.
Looks like they might be working together to keep Romney out by splitting up the vote. It appears those that support Huckabee are propping up McCain in reality.
Where are the Mike “Open Borders for Jesus” Huckleberry supporters to explain this away? Dano1? Dane?
If this doesn’t make it obvious who McCain’s running mate will be, what does?
Viva La Reconquista! Viva La Raza!
Old news from wikipedia:
In the election of 1824, none of the candidates was able to secure a majority of the electoral vote, thereby putting the outcome in the hands of the House of Representatives, which (to the surprise of many) elected John Quincy Adams over rival Andrew Jackson. Henry Clay was the Speaker of the House at the time, and he convinced Congress to elect Adams. Adams then made Clay his Secretary of State. Some people believe that an agreement was made ahead of time between the two, what was referred to by the defeated Jackson as a “corrupt bargain.”
Yeah, it’s different this time around, but a deal has been made.
We’ll see if you are still laughing when real conservatives (unlike you) reject McCain and stay home.
George Soros.
“But before Huckabees surprising turnaround at the convention, McCain delegates told FOX News they had been instructed by the campaign to throw their support to Huckabee.
McCain delegate John Vuolo said former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer approached him and other McCain supporters at the convention and told them he had spoken to McCain, and that the best thing to do was to support Huckabee in the hope that Huckabee could beat Romney in this winner-take-all state.
That account could add fuel to Romneys claim that Huckabee is only undercutting his support base on Super Tuesday, and that a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. Thats a claim Huckabee has fiercely denied.”
McCain voters didn’t even wait for McCain to be voted off in that round, they switched early.
I cut my affiliation months ago. I am now a conservative only.
“No matter how you look at it. Romney lost.”
That fact is that Romney, with all his money, is transparent and unelectable.
Romney supporters will never admit it, but all Romney did was spend so much money that he sucked the oxygen out of the room so none of the legitimate conservative candidates could get any traction.
I should add that I think Romney would have won anyway, if RonPaul hadn’t joined hands with McCain. I’m not sure of that, but Romney was VERY close to an absolute majority, and I think the Paul votes would have put him over the top.
To you Huck-ster supporters...this jerk has made a deal to hand the nomination to McCain, dooming conservatism and the Republican party..
All’s fair in love, war, and politics.
“I am hoping that most conservatives will be soured by this backroom political action that reeks of collusion and manipulation...and that it will backfire on them as conservatives vote against it...today.
I think it was great strategy. This is a battle. Mitt got
skunked, outmaneuvered and outflanked in WV! He apparently
isn’t as smart as we’ve been led to believe.
Although allowed, it STINKS.
But do the really think we the voters are crazy or ingnorant?

It didn’t appear that way to me. If you look at the 1st vote results versus the second it appears most of Paul’s went to Romney but ALL of mccain’s went to Huck. Right?
it’s going to be long night.
Ya think?
