Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee enjoys the first victory on Super Tuesday for the Republicans as he takes all 18 delegates in the state of West Virginia, winning 52% of the vote, although rumors abound regarding the McCain campaign's possible instruction to their delegates to switch to his side.
Mitt Romney finished second with 47% of the vote, followed by McCain at 1%.
Rumors are circulating that the McCain campaign instructed their delegates to defect over to Mike Huckabee's side as to avoid a Romney victory. Nationally, McCain is significantly ahead of Huckabee and can afford giving the state's 18 delegates to Huckabee, but certainly not to Romney, who was originally in the lead when polling began in West Virginia by a wide margin and trails McCain nationally by only 17 delegates.

Interesting. I was starting to thin Romney would win all the Caucuses but it wouldn’t help if McCain wins all the elections... However, if Romney is gonna turn things around and win California, as looks possible now, McCain’s got to stop Romney from winning every Caucus.
What this really means is all the campaigns are thoroughly in the hands of professional strategists. no more grass roots.
Looks like they might be working together to keep Romney out by splitting up the vote. It appears those that support Huckabee are propping up McCain in reality.
Where are the Mike “Open Borders for Jesus” Huckleberry supporters to explain this away? Dano1? Dane?
If this doesn’t make it obvious who McCain’s running mate will be, what does?

McCain voters didn’t even wait for McCain to be voted off in that round, they switched early.

That fact is that Romney, with all his money, is transparent and unelectable.
Romney supporters will never admit it, but all Romney did was spend so much money that he sucked the oxygen out of the room so none of the legitimate conservative candidates could get any traction.
I should add that I think Romney would have won anyway, if RonPaul hadn’t joined hands with McCain. I’m not sure of that, but Romney was VERY close to an absolute majority, and I think the Paul votes would have put him over the top.
To you Huck-ster supporters...this jerk has made a deal to hand the nomination to McCain, dooming conservatism and the Republican party..

It didn’t appear that way to me. If you look at the 1st vote results versus the second it appears most of Paul’s went to Romney but ALL of mccain’s went to Huck. Right?
