Authorities said that a woman gunned down her husband after she claimed to have found photos and messages "indicating" that he was having an affair.
The woman, 50-year-old Nicole Ward, allegedly told her husband, 53-year-old Damian, to "pack his bags and leave the house," causing a verbal altercation to escalate, Law & Crime reported.
Charging documents obtained by FOX5 state that Nicle Ward then allegedly blasted her husband with a .357 S&B Magnum revolver.
The fatal shooting took place on July 19th, according to a press release from the Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD). Officers were called to the couple's home in the 13200 block of Old Chapel Road at 1:45 a.m., and upon arriving on scene, found Damian Ward suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during an argument," PGPD said in a statement. Nicole Ward's charging documents state that she allegedly told police that she found photos and messages on a second phone belonging to her husband, which sparked the fight between them.
She reportedly told police that the content proved her husband "was having an extramarital affair with another woman." It is unclear if Damian Ward responded to the cheating accusations before he was fatally shot.
Nicole Ward has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related charges.
As of Wednesday, July 23rd, she was in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
People described Damian Ward and his wife, Nicole, as great neighbors, a seemingly happy couple. They said that Damian Ward was a big, friendly guy, with an even bigger heart.

I don’t think she lost track in all the excitement whether it was loaded or not so probably no long speech. She probably took Tuco’s advice to heart.
As I always say, if I had shot my ex back when he deserved it, I’d be out of prison by now! ;)
