With Democrats controlling the presidency and Congress, Republican state lawmakers concerned about the possibility of new federal gun control laws aren’t waiting to react.
Legislation in at least a dozen states seeks to nullify any new restrictions, such as ammunition limits or a ban on certain types of weapons. Some bills would make it a crime for local police officers to enforce federal gun laws.
That can create confusion for officers who often work with federal law enforcement, said Daniel Isom, a former chief of the St. Louis Police Department who is now a senior advisor for Everytown for Gun Safety. Federal law plays a big role in some areas, such as keeping guns away from domestic violence offenders.
Putting local officers in a position to decide which laws to enforce is the last thing police need at a time when cities such as St. Louis are experiencing a rise in violent crime, Isom said. …

There hasn’t been a mass shooting in a while so that’s another thing to expect from the Biden occupation. After they are through with the “racial equity” crap, they’ll be going after the guns next and surprise surprise, here comes the mass shootings.
We need to speak the truth on this issue. The federal government has no authority to regulate arms of any kind or on any level, period.
The farce of federal gun laws has gone on long enough. Texas will lead the way and nullify and codify all federal gun laws out of existence in the state. Missouri may be right behind Texas or may even act first.
It's time to end federal gun control permanently.
“Everytown For Gun Safety?”
More like Everytown for Stalinism.
When these lowlifes and vermin start killing their way through the Nation, may 1000 of them end up like cordwood for each of We The People they knowingly murder.
Regardless, they are sending the message that the gun laws they may pass will not be honored by that state.
Pretty sure NV ain’t one of ‘em. Sad days.
Yes. Nullification of unconstitutional laws is what that idea was for.
Not for nullification of lawful acts of Congress.
Nullification as an idea was therefore both misused and as a legal principal essentially never used.
The progressives act as if not being able to nullify a lawful statute is the same as not being able to nullify an unlawful one.
Why don’t they push for direct shipment of gun purchases to CCW holders, bypassing the FFLs (who will scream at the loss of income)?
Similarly, allow out of state handgun purchases by the CCWs.
They have passed all kinds of background checks**, so why not?
If you can get the antis screaming about this, they’ll have less time to push their agenda.
**To REALLY get them screaming, propose that all Congressmen and Senators must pass the CCW background check. In for a penny, in for a pound.
They are unconstitutional, but you can still rot in jail for the rest of your life if you break them.
Whatever you want to call it, it’s a good thing when states assert their authority and make it harder for the Federal government to do unconstitutional things.
The more difficult, time consuming, and expensive these laws are to enforce, the less enforcement they’ll be able to do. That’s a win for liberty. Ultimately, we need the Trump Supreme Court to come through for us and strike down these laws with major decisions providing binding precedent.

The duplicity is ridiculous. Local cops don’t enforce federal law, and states have been refusing to provide assistance on immigration laws as well. No cop will be confused, and most will probably be in violation, except there will be exemptions for them. Gun owners will be the ones confused or impacted, when they comply with state law but find themselves prosecuted federally.
State and local officers should be instructed to arrest any federal agents who dare try to deprive citizens of their liberty or property. Enough of this Washington DC tyranny!
our sheriff here just proclaimed our county to be a 2nd amendment sanctuary... but he is such a media hound.
they can do the same with voting laws to then.
It’s not just time to nullify unconstututional guncontrol, but everything else that has been forced on this country by successive rogue and illegitimate USSC “rulings” such as unfettered abortion, euthanasia, affirmative action, illegal property takings, intrastate commerce restrictions, homosexual pseudo-marriage, and much more. In fact, we ought to require complete adherence to the Constitution as written. What a concept!
I concur. Each state should set up guidelines for the nullification laws used in that state and then all levels of government from state down to dog-catcher should implement those guidelines into some type of legislation. It would take the Feds years to sue and litigate each law especially if each has to go to the USSC.
That “everytown” bunch is a gang of lunatics. Even some of the libs question their drek.
Guns and ammo are the hinge issue in America.
“...at a time when cities such as St. Louis are experiencing a rise in violent crime,”
That is argumentum ad verecundiam.
Even Scalia agreed. …
