Could easily be O for Obama and 44 for the book referenced at the bottom of the page. 47 could be the registration book page-who knows? Until we see some other certs in that same timeframe we can only speculate what those mean. But I’m positive that O44 would tell you exactly where to look up the information in the registry.

From what I understand, Kenya wasn’t declared a republic until December 1964, although they gained independence Dec 1963. And from what I’ve seen, the Dec. 1963 Constitution only refers to Kenya as “Kenya.”

Thus the “Republic of Kenya” issue. So far I haven’t seen any proof that ANY official docs from Feb 1964 would have had “Republic of Kenya” on them.

Now there was apparently some stuff in June or so that involves a politician and some sort of declaration of Kenya being a republic. But still, that’s months in the future.

Another thing that bothers me is the lack of an actual paper document that can be examined by document experts. All we have is an image file. That’s it.

Those interchangable typewriter ball font cartridges were for electric typewriters I believe.

In 1964 the “fonts” would have been on the end of those narrow keys which were punched up and struck the ribbon in front of the paper. The “shift” key shifted those keys up or down to type caps.

I have questions about Mombasa - do we even know that there were any Obama relatives in Mombasa? It's quite a distance from Nyang’oma Kogelo, in a different province - Coast Province vs. Nyanza Province. Obama Sr. and relatives were Luo, who live mostly in western Kenya. Mombasa is eastern Kenya.

I haven't been able to trace where the Mombasa idea came from, unless it was Bishop McRae. Nairobi, the capitol, is much closer to Nyang’oma Kogelo.

Kenya did not declare for Republic until December of 1964. Ten months after this document was “created”.

Very interesting and it wouldn't surprise me if somebody from the left came up with this in order to get the birthers excited, only to turn around and declare it fake due to the dates involved and to try and make them a laughing stock. FR was quick on figuring out the date thing.

If anybody has the most to gain from this birther issue, it's the Dems and their strategists George Soros, Rahm Emmanuel and David Axlerod. They can use it to make conservatives look like blitering idiots in 2010 and 2012 just like the Dems used SNL and Tina Fey to destroy Sarah Palin.

Focus on winning back Congress in 2010 then the White House in 2012.
