As I join my fellow Christ followers in lamenting the re-election of a president whose policies have been decidedly unGodly, I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul. “Let every soul,” he instructed, “be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” What that means is that sovereign God, in His divine wisdom, has permitted Barack Obama to rule our troubled land another four years. Just as He allowed Pharoah to rule Egypt during the time of Moses; Ahab to rule Israel during the...

Would we have had a mid-western son of a milk truck driver (Pawlenty) as our nominee has she not surged up until Ames Straw poll? I am trying to trace down to the seed that germinated into re-electing Obama. That is the closest I have come. During this cycle, a more modestly wealthy mid-western governor of a Blue state may just have been the ticket. Thoughts?

The “Balkanization” of America now requires that office seekers pander to all narrow special interest voters to secure their support. Have we become so selfish and self-interested that we now no longer concern ourselves with what the Founders called “…the general Welfare…”? It’s what happens when a nation fails to secure its borders, allowing in those who not only do not even speak the language but have no understanding of the traditions, mores, folkways and HISTORY of that nation and fail or REFUSE to assimilate. And that millions of them are here ILLEGALLY makes fools of those who stand in...

Hey team - I'm going to make a suggestion. That now is not the time to be sloppily bandying about Atlas Shrugged. It's a pretty clear concept, and I don't think it's good to be calling 'not buying newspapers' the same thing as 'shrugging.' It's the left's job to mutiliate words and concepts, not ours. But instead of harping on that, I'm going to take another road. "I don't believe it matters to me- that they're going to destroy it. Maybe it hurts so much that I don't even know I'm hurt. But I don't think so. If you want...

I have thought this over after the election and some other things I have thought about before the election and over the last several years. Question – what seems to be the common denominator for all elections over the past several ones – that either make it close for our side when we win or bad when we lose? It may sound trite or a cliché but to me it is the media. Think about the debates for instance. It seems the liberal media hacks always moderate the debates. Why is that? There were the Kennedy-Nixon debates of 1960 and...

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29 Those words sound so good. The future is bright. God has a plan for prosperity, for a real hope and a real future. On the eve of the election, it must have meant a Romney win, the GOP takes the Senate and we start the rollback of the Obama regime, right? Not exactly. The Plan Was ExileHere's the shocking context of Jeremiah 29 (and I offer to you, the...

Here we sit on the good ship USA sailing merily along. We have tried repeatedly to tell passengers that there is an ice berg dead ahead, a fiscal cliff, Greece, etc. Despite our warnings they have not and will not listen to us. We have tried to tell the people about the pain being caused to them. Again, they will not and have not listened. Instead, they voted to not only stay on the ship but to stay on course. Understanding how (some) of the electorate got there is important. In my opinion some of it starts with the nature...

It has been brought up by me and many others, both recently and over time, that American conservatives may simply be too meek and nice to prevail against a determined, vicious, devious and underhanded enemy like the Marxist Left. I don't know that a dedicated thread to discuss this has yet been opened since the election, so I thought I would do so. I've never been large or overly strong, nor inherently unfriendly, but I grew up as a scrappy little kid, and people still occasionally say that I merely need to walk into a room for people to know...

These things were all mentioned before the election, we knew that ACORN was simply renamed and probably multiplied in every city in America. There were obvious big money giveaways to the various unions and democrat activists, including the UAW and SEIU, who take taxpayer money and help any democrat campaign they can. Who is investigating this wholesale voter fraud funded by the stimulus?...Holder? And the experts and candidates don't understand what happened!!! Gimme a break

How about we all register as Democrats and vote in conservative candidates in their primary? The electorate is so illiterate about what goes on the world that even if it made the news they wouldn't know and would vote for the candidate with the D.

I'm not a huge supporter of boycotts, but I thought an effort to get the MSM news outlets to not be an extension of the Democrats was to hurt themin the pocketbook. If we generate a list of the advertisers during news programs on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and/or CBS, then write two sets of letters: 1) letters to the advertisers announcing a complete boycott of all of their products and services, including cancellations of existing relationships BECAUSE OF MEDIA BIAS on the part of the networks. 2) letters to the networks announcing the same thing. If they continue being...

Dear Friends, Like you, I was disappointed by the outcome of election day. But I remain undaunted. Hundreds of Republican candidates campaigned on real plans to address our runaway debt and looming entitlement crisis and won a strong majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rising conservative leaders like Jeff Flake, Ted Cruz and Deb Fischer will now join me and stalwarts like Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey in the U.S. Senate. Yet many are still asking: “Where do we go from here?” We will certainly face many battles in Congress in the coming...

Fellow FReepers -- This is designed to serve as a single repository for layoff announcements, stories and other related news pertaining to the future dismantling of our economy due to the re-election of Barack Obama. The goal here is a one-stop source to bolster our argument that Obama's reelection is truly the detriment to our economic well-being.

and continue with "They have to dump Evangelicals", "They have to embrace evangelicals","They have to become more fiscally liberal", "No, they have to be truly fiscally conservative", "They'll never win the presidency again and the demographics have doomed them", take a look at the numbers. As of right now, only 2,841,121 votes separate the two. That's 2 percentage points, 2 percentage points of the total. Hardly an insurmountable hurdle in future elections. That relatively small number is not an indication that America has turned against the GOP and is convincingly on the side of becoming a Western European style nanny...

Dear Conservative: I think it's bad Obama won - we all do. Let's stop whining and look for a solution to voter fraud other than photo ID. I suggest creating a stand with a camera 100 feet outside of the entrance of the voting location, pointed at the voting entrance, and tape it from beginning until closing. Play the video back and count how many actually entered the polling location. This would be legal and effective. This could be done secretively or out in the open. We then have a video document that will actually counteract voter fraud and would...
