Fellow FReepers -- This is designed to serve as a single repository for layoff announcements, stories and other related news pertaining to the future dismantling of our economy due to the re-election of Barack Obama. The goal here is a one-stop source to bolster our argument that Obama's reelection is truly the detriment to our economic well-being.
May I suggest a term to use for these layoffs: Obamasizing
My sister got laid off wednesday. Last day Friday.
She was working for 5 months as a temp in a medicare payments admin
firm.
I’m sure it was they saw the writing on the wall.
She is applying for another temp opening somewhere else.
“Obamasizing.”

I see no need to bolster your argument that obama is a detriment to our economic well-being. Most everyone here agrees.
The people that missed the message before the election or did not care will never participate in such a discussion.

Yup, I was obamasized (no need to capitalize the ‘o’).
Company consolidating and moving part of the operation overseas.
Ready to collect SSI with virtually no debt; will wind up on Medicare too when qualified.
Moving to cash only whenever possible; no visible income.
This is intended to drive home the point that we were right all along... for those fools outside of the FR world that thought somehow reelecting Obama was somehow going to make it all better.

My employer laid off 34 of 189 employees and dropped another 45 down to part-time hours. I’m one of the ones dropped to part-time, but I figure that 28-30 hours is better than nothing.

It’s a good idea, but we should face one disturbing fact:
Most of the people that voted for Obama are uninterested in a strong economy. Like Obama himself, they are egalitarians who approve of special interest-group “identity politics” and demand “social justice”; i.e., they demand that the law — which is supposed to treat all people equally — treat different groups of people unequally — each group with its own “special” grievances and demands — for the sake of obtaining a preconceived desired “social outcome.”
I find it very disturbing that most Americans today simply don’t want freedom. They claim that they want security but they don’t understand the necessary relation between the latter and the former.

This occurred on October 11. Yes, before the election, but just, and our company was assuming Obama would win.

The fact that people are voting their own economic self interests basically takes away the liberal high road they've been winning on for decades. Truth is its all about crass self interests, worse its about envy & sloth.

The more people laid off by private industry, the more they turn to government to survive and vote Democrat. When people make a good living working for private industry, they vote Republican. Hiring works out better.
