It’s a fun, yet quiet community, just west of Tampa, Florida. It is probably best known as the home of the Safety Harbor Spa. Safety Harbor was the site of a small Fourth of July parade that can only be called perfect homespun Americana. Residents lined up on Main Street in rows that were, in some places, 15 and 20 deep. Voting in Central Florida was quite a sight when the polls opened at 07:00. Still dark, the voting place was a local library. At the door was a poll watcher who had been doing this for twenty plus years, he commented that he had never seen a line form in this quiet, semi bedroom community.
