Florida Election Day Thread
Nov. 2 2010 | Bowtie

Posted on 11/02/2010 5:28:09 AM PDT by Bowtie52

Voting in Central Florida was quite a sight when the polls opened at 07:00. Still dark, the voting place was a local library. At the door was a poll watcher who had been doing this for twenty plus years, he commented that he had never seen a line form in this quiet, semi bedroom community. He was happy to see a couple of voters show up, per hour, throughout the day during elections past. When the polls opened, there were twenty plus people, already in line to vote. The system went smoothly and everyone had an eye toward anything that might be out of place. ACORN would have a hard time surviving at this polling place, the best they will be able to do is to corrupt the votes later.

Obama’s name was frequently used in vain. Comments, among the voters while waiting in line, were rather crude but all were there in response to the dictator want-to-be. If the rest of Florida has motivation and turn out like this, the tsunami will start here.

My husband & I were first in line at 6:30AM.....but by the time we left at 7:15, the parking lot was PACKED!!!

Be very careful with your ballot.....the lady in front of me couldn't get the machine to take her completed ballot....she tried and tried.

Finally, the poll watcher took a quick look at her ballot and said ...."You over voted on #4....sorry, you have to do it again".....!!!

So those machines must be super/hyper sensitive!

As long as my congressman the vile Mr. Grayson is dispatched I will be very happy here in Mount Dora. Of course I will be glad to see about 70 of his Dem cohorts dispatched with him.

Voted early in central Florida last week. I gotta say that I may never have enjoyed casting a ballot more than this time. Voting for Webster (against Grayson) and for Rubio really felt good. Casting votes to stop the Obama train wreck felt great. After two years of feeling helpless this was finally our chance to actually put an end to it.

There was not a line when I got to the Poll shortly after 7am, but all the booths was occupied at that time. My wife and I had to wait a few minutes before the booths were available.

This is the first time that my wife ever voted since she became a US Citizen in May of this year. She thought that voting was going to take an hour or so. The whole process took about 10 minutes.

We were there when the polls opened and so far so good. I am more concerned about the absentee voting and the early voting than about problems today. I think there will be a lot of people keeping a close watch on all aspects of the procedure today. I don’t expect the results in some states for months after many recounts. It’s very sad when we can’t even trust our voting officials.

MORE THAN A THUMPIN'

Obama says Dems are in trouble because Americans aren't thinking clearly. He's delusional.

Time to put the federal beast back into its cage.

Forget the polls, forget the media spin. Go to the ballot box and put an end to the Dem Party.

Throw this putrid congress out on their heads.

My mother was extremely surprised when she got a robocall for Charlie Crist.... from Bob Dole! Couldn’t believe Dole was supporting Crist. I was pretty surprised as well. Looking forward to voting for Marco Rubio today, and although I wasn’t enthusiastic about Rick Scott (though will definitely be voting for him), I am feeling better about that, too. So looking forward to election returns tonight!

We’re expecting good things out of Florida. A gain of 4 House seats, one Senate seat and a Governorship. Florida came through in 2000, time to do it again.

At my precinct in central Florida, they were really keeping tabs on those who had already voted..

...I could clearly see on the book (when I signed my name) they had marked the names with a check for those who had early voted.....

..they would know if someone tried to vote twice.

Got my voting done early today. Moderately busy, but well run with no snags.

I was there just before 7 and there was a line. It was interesting to see a fellow in the line next to mine challenged that he was mailed a ballot already. He responded "I never received it." Heh, heh, heh . . .

Although you can't tell a book by its cover, I would guess he was most likely a democrat. They sent him to the supervisor to talk it over with her. I didn't notice if he ever got to vote or not.

Headed out in a few minutes Joe. I hear turnout has been pretty good! Kosmas and Grayson are toast and I’m praying Sink isn’t able to cheat enough to slip past Scott!

This is a BIG deal!

That could go one of three ways - either he already voted with the mailed ballot and was trying to vote twice, the mailed ballot was intercepted by a 'rat and used, or the ballot was lost in the mail.

Very important that Scott wins..for more than all the obvious reasons...Marco is already on most short lists for VP in 2012, but NOT if there’s a Dem governor to name his replacement..

Would love to have voted against Grayson (if I lived in his district) or voted for West (if I lived in his district). I was able to vote against Deutsch (would have liked to have voted FOR Lynch if he had won the primary). At least I won’t have to see Wexler ever again.
