Yes, there are Republican teachers!

I just had to post this--WARNING! If you hate spiders this could give you nightmares! shelob4
It's a lot more impressive if you click on it and look at the large size!

If you have dogs you hate these:

But my dog thinks these are great fun!

Look at this guy's eye!!

Took this one this morning. These are interesting lizards (brown anole), they look so plain until they puff up their wattle!

I have been enjoying my new camera, and especially my new long lens! We have been inundated with dragonflies the past couple of weeks, and they are really interesting to shoot photos of.

Too bad you can't embed youtube videos here. I hope it's ok to link to them. This was pretty cool and in keeping with my reptile obsession....

Gator Video

This is not a reptile, but I think it's pretty cute. Probably cuter than a snake. For reference sake, this is a 3 day old golden puppy.

More snakes! If anyone can ID this guy, I'd love to know what he is. He was pretty shy, and when I got too close beat a hasty retreat!

Also, this lovely skink. I'm not sure why I like reptiles so much, they remind me of a quote by Julia Roberts, which was supposed to be insulting.

Found this in the garage last week. Turned out to be a Southern Ring-necked Snake. They are apparently common in Florida. Very pretty snake, with a bright orange underbelly and ring around his neck. He was pretty small, probably 6 or 7 inches long. We let him go in the backyard.

And here is what like to do in my spare time!

I shot this pic from my Hobi kayak in the everglades. He was about 18 inches from the boat, and actually hit us with his tail when he decided we were too close!

This is not as scarey as a gator, but we were surprised to see 4 of these when paddling around Lake Ida!

And, when I'm not doing that, I'm probably doing something with these.....
