Don't know how lively this thread will be, but there is coverage of sorts going on so I figured it merited a thread for FReepers to comment on and post updates as they occur.

Problem I see is they can also be disqualified by ulterior motive rather than a legitimate official one. It is an open door for exploitation and abuse.

That is brilliant. Now I’m disappointed that the defense didn’t bring it up.

Hope not a hung jury with another trial to happen.

I've given that some thought and can't imagine the prosecutor would want another trial. This one went so badly for them. But I've been shocked and dismayed before.

That was the order and instructions to the jury from the judge, he said that for each count as he gave instructions.

They probably can’t get any “Asian food” brought in, as downtown Kenosha is a wasteland from last Summer’s rioting, looting and arson.

On the last jury I was on, several women cried when engaged in discussion.

Whether a new trial is begun depends on the political environment, not the legal sense. The DA and ADA need votes to be reelected, and their base is shaky at best.

I would rather have a Judge rule on this.

But at the time they had to decide, the defendant and his team did not know how the prosecutors would screw up, nor how strongly the judge was going to dress them down.

Another really sad thing is that the governor has called out the national guard in anticipation of riots. Typical Leftist reaction: Things don’t go your way, riot in the name of race or some other Leftist cause regardless of the facts.

And the stupid government/media are encouraging it. It’s disgraceful.

I’m sure Garland is already working on Federal civil rights charges in case of acquittal - claiming the victims were “fundamentally minorities.”

I doubt that… these jurors are people who live in Kenosha County who are already under threat. People naturally tend toward self-preservation.

A Judge is trained in the Law. I rather trust a Judge then a jury with a single “woke” moron on it.

They were “black for the day” even though Rosenbaum likes to use the “N” word a lot. But then, its okay when blacks use it.
