I met a Native American school teacher in Oklahoma last month, and we had a fascinating discussion about religion. He told me that many Native Americans are abandoning Christianity, and are turning to the religions of their ancestors. In fact, Native American religions have become quite fashionable among many whites in the New Age movement.
He also noted that many Indians consider white Christians to be worse than Muslims. He feels that American Indians were treated much worse, than Muslim nations have historically treated their Dhimmi minorities. He was angered by the fact that the US government had historically forced Indian Children to attend Christian boarding schools, where, he claims, they were taught to hate their culture and accept the white man's religion.
According to him, the historical mistreatment of American Indians proves to him that Christianity is a false religion. He sarcastically added that, if the past treatment of Indians in America is an example of "Christian love", it terrifies him to think of what white Christians would have done to the Indians, if they were motivated by "Christian hate". What can white Christians do, to bring an end to this anger and bitterness, that many American Indians seem to harbor?

Man these people are so stupid that they must be beyond all help. Maybe their wish should be granted. Have them all move to the muslim country of their choice and live as dhimmi. Let them experience first-hand the tolerance that is the defining characteristic of nearly every muslim-run country. I hear it is even more fun when you're not a Jew or a Christian.

They wouldn't get the choice to live as second class citizens, pay a tax and keep their own religion.
Did this American Indian acknowlege the bloodthirsty nature of his own ancestors as a contributing factor to their eventual mistreatment at the hands of the US government?
Indians aren’t the only tribes who feel that way, pretty much every liberal does too.
So Chief Big Feathers thinks Christianity is white. He better lay down that pipe.
I have to wonder if any of these idiots understand that all the misery was in the PAST and that the muslims will treat them worse in the PRESENT day. Lastly, whining about whites will not solve their non-existent problems. They have everything for free now, time to make use of these opportunities.

Of course not! I mean, scalping was a Eropean invention, as was war! Until then, Indians lived in perfect harmony with each other.
Fortunately, they are in a Christian country where they can practice whatever religion they choose - freely.

Modern myths.
While some of these kind of things did occur, in the “lower 48”, the “forced....to attend” aspects were dominant north of the “lower 48” (Canada) and, while it (”forced,....to”) did occur in some instances in the “lower 48” it was not dominant there.
At the same time, especially in the “lower 48”, the government, particularly the federal government did little or nothing to provide or insure general education for native Americans that did not assimilate themselves on their own, but Christian led organizations did attempt to the fill the gap that the states also did little to fill.
Thus, it is hard to equate the whole process - in the “lower 48” as one that the dominant society as a whole “forced” on the natives. The “Christian” aspect of that was more a matter of opportunity than “force” (which was NOT the case in Canada), because of the large non-governmental element that Christian organizations played in trying to provide what the government did nor provide to the natives, particularly to natives who were not themselves assimilating into the broader population - whether by their own choice not to or by local prejudices against it (which varied across the land).
