Explanation: What's happened in Hebes Chasma on Mars? Hebes Chasma is a depression just north of the enormous Valles Marineris canyon. Since the depression is unconnected to other surface features, it is unclear where the internal material went. Inside Hebes Chasma is Hebes Mensa, a 5 kilometer high mesa that appears to have undergone an unusual partial collapse -- a collapse that might be providing clues. The above image, taken by the robotic Mars Express spacecraft currently orbiting Mars, shows great details of the chasm and the unusual horseshoe shaped indentation in the central mesa. Material from the mesa appears to have flowed onto the floor of the chasm, while a possible dark layer appears to have pooled like ink on a downslope landing. A recent hypothesis holds that salty rock composes some lower layers in Hebes Chasma, with the salt dissolving in melted ice flows that drained through holes into an underground aquifer.

It's possible that the “collapse” is an indication that a massive Martian polyp has been removed from that location. Thank goodness, that would prevent Mars from developing cancer.
It’s rocks, dirt and sand sliding around. The exact cause not really that interesting (except for the few working it out) but visually stunning nevertheless.
Looks like the ground under the Alien Mars Base swallowed the base. Mars Warming caused by the excessive exposure to Alien anti-gravity generators in their ships combined with probes sent from earth have caused another giant sink hole. Send Obama and the EPA to Mars to fix this with executive orders and new regulations. Be sure the trip is one way.

Well gee, it seems a decent picture can be taken of the Mars landscape, which means they can also take good pictures of the Moon....I guess all the controversy can be cleared up tomorrow.

You have to ask yourself, if you think logically or have a smidgen of honesty, why they are not giving us good photos of all the controversial tin foil hat picture sites but we get great pictures of barren landscapes that nobody is dying to see or has had any interest in in the last 20 years.
Want to make Hoagland look like an idiot then give us this resolution photo of all his picture sites.

Hoaxland saddled on the so-called face on Mars, and that formation *has* been photographed at much higher resolution, showing it to be a natural formation, with no sign of the Viking images’ 32 pixels of the pareidolia-fueled “face”. Despite that, he’s still harping on artificiality on Mars. It’s nonsense.
