Two days ago with no warning I noticed the balance in my account was $1200 too high. No notice or email, from either my credit union or SS or IRS or whoever is tossing this out is. I ain’t complaining, I’m gonna spend it on a new iPhone.

Yep and on the 15th. I did my taxes early so that may have helped. I’m also on unemployment as I got laid off and they gave me $428 for unemployment and an extra $600 that said unemployment relief so in one day I made $2,228

My understanding of the poorly written guidance from the IRS is this:
for those of us on Social Security, we will have the direct deposit of these funds anyday now IF we have our direct deposit information on file with the IRS for a tax refund.
This makes no sense to me since those who get Social Security via direct deposit but who didn’t have direct deposit on IRS refunds have to wait on a paper check.
