Filing a tax return is a necessary but not sufficient condition for receiving the stimulus.
You must also have provided deposit information, ie, your bank account information.
But even that is not enough. For example, suppose you actually owed money. Even if you provided your account information for the IRS to direct debit your account, you still have to give the IRS your deposit information.
Evidently, the IRS distinguishes between direct deposit and direct debit.
Ps. I read somewhere that anyone who does not have direct deposit may wait until August.
