A MARONDERA woman is lucky to be alive after a pet zebra her family had been keeping over the last 10 years ran riot, biting off part of her breast and chewing off her thumb. Anne Mhidza, 40, managed to escape almost literally from “the jaws of death” after getting the zebra to release its vice-like grip by forcing open its mouth. Speaking from her hospital bed, Mhidza said a herd-boy employed by her family picked up the zebra while it was still a foal some 10 years ago.
