Studios are learning this summer that audiences have no time for their tired franchises. This weekend it's Sony that's taking the lumps as "Men in Black: International," the first "MIB" movie in seven years, opened with a franchise-low $28.5 million at the domestic box office. A college professor in Georgia is drawing criticism for his online comments about illegal immigrants, including his contention that people in the U.S. illegally can be a drain on the nation’s economy. “If you are going to reward illegal immigrants, there will be more illegal immigrants,” Fang Zhou, an associate professor of history at Georgia Gwinnett College near Atlanta, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A Gillette advert which references bullying, the #MeToo movement and toxic masculinity has split opinion online. The razor company's short film, called Believe, plays on their famous tagline "The best a man can get", replacing it with "The best men can be". The company says it wants men to hold each other "accountable". Some have praised its message, which aims to update the company's previous message about masculinity, but others say Gillette is now "dead" to them. It currently has 23,000 likes and 214,000 dislikes, at time of writing - and it's increasing all the time.
