PONTIAC - Livingston County authorities are investigating a gruesome and bizarre death today. A bystander in a parking lot in the 1000 block of West Reynolds Street called 911 about 4:30 a.m. today to report a tow truck driving erratically across two parking lots before it hit a sign and continued across a road into a ditch. When police arrived and inspected the vehicle, they found a decapitated body inside. They then found a human head in the parking lot where the caller first noticed the truck.

(09-12) 14:05 PDT Allen Park, Mich. (AP) -- The body of a 41-year-old man was found in a wooded area next to a guillotine he built and used to kill himself, police said. The man, from the Detroit suburb of Melvindale, was discovered Monday by workers from a shopping center near his home. Allen Park Deputy Police Chief Dale Covert said the roughly six-foot tall guillotine was bolted to a tree and included a swing arm. Covert said police also found several store receipts detailing the materials used to assemble the device...

New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin has suggested that the slow recovery and rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina -- which has prevented many black former residents from returning -- is part of a plan to change the racial makeup and political leadership of his and other cities. "Ladies and gentlemen, what happened in New Orleans could happen anywhere," Nagin said at a dinner sponsored by the National Newspaper Publishers Association, a trade group for newspapers that target black readers. "They are studying this model of natural disasters, dispersing the community and changing the electoral process in that community."...

Physicists seek to put one thing in two placesSept. 25, 2006 Special to World Science Physicists say they have made an object move just by watching it. This is inspiring them to a still bolder project: putting a small, ordinary thing into two places at once. It may be a “fantasy,” admits Keith Schwab of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., one of the researchers. Then again, the first effect seemed that way not long ago, and the second is related. The gray sliver reaching from top to bottom, slanted in the image, is a nanomechanical resonator, a sub-microscopic device...

(08-08) 16:12 PDT WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) -- A lunchtime parade of topless porn stars down the main street of New Zealand's biggest city has been given official approval, as no laws will be broken. The parade later this month will feature up to 30 porn stars riding on the back of motorcycles or in open cars through Auckland's CBD to promote an erotica exposition. The bare breast drive has been held informally since 2003, but this is the first time permission has been sought, and given, by Auckland City Council. Organizer Steve Crow said it would promote an Erotica...

ATLANTA - Timothy "Bud" Badyna has broken world records. He ran a marathon in under four hours. He finished a 10K race in 45 minutes. Wait a minute, you say, that's not so fast. Right. But Badyna set those records running backward. Badyna, dubbed "Backwards Bud" by fellow runners, holds the Guinness World Record for fastest backward run in a 200-meter race (32.78 seconds), set in 2001. In the early 1990s, he held the record for backward marathon (3 hours, 53 minutes) and 10K (45 minutes, 37 seconds). Those records have since been broken. So the 39-year-old hospital nurse from...

CRYPTOZOOLOGY – a strange word for a strange science. Let's face it, any discipline which includes the study of everything from the Loch Ness monster, a fur-lined trout and millions of species of nematode worms is nothing if not eclectic. This science of finding as-yet-unknown creatures covers a broad area. It ranges from the sea monsters and chimera that most of the scientific community would dismiss, to the millions of creatures that we know do exist but have just never been seen or described by science. Dr Geoff Swinney is the curator of lower vertebrates, fish, amphibians and reptiles at...

JOHANNESBURG — "Monster mice" are eating metre-high albatross chicks alive, threatening rare bird species on a remote south Atlantic island seen as the world's most important seabird colony. Conservation groups say the avian massacre is occurring on Gough Island in the South Atlantic, a British territory about 1,600 kms (1,000 miles) southwest of Cape Town and home to more than 10 million birds. "Gough Island hosts an astonishing community of seabirds and this catastrophe could make many extinct within decades," said Dr Geoff Hilton, a senior research biologist with Britain's Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). "We think...

TOKYO - A Japanese psychiatric counselor has recited pi to 83,431 decimal places from memory, breaking his own personal best of 54,000 digits and setting an unofficial world record, a media report said Saturday. Akira Haraguchi, 59, had begun his attempt to recall the value of pi — a mathematical value that has an infinite number of decimal places — at a public hall in Chiba city, east of Tokyo, on Friday morning and appeared to give up by noon after only reaching 16,000 decimal places, the Tokyo Shimbun said on its Web site. But a determined Haraguchi started anew...

CONSPIRACY theorists are buzzing about John Kerry's connection to Lee Harvey Oswald and the JFK assassina tion. While no one in the lunatic fringe has gone so far as to suggest Kerry helped kill Kennedy — yet — they make much of the fact that a cousin of Kerry's, Michael Paine, was a close friend of Oswald who fre quently had the assassin as a house guest. Paine even stored the rifle Oswald used to shoot Kennedy at his house. Paine's mother, Ruth Forbes, and Kerry's mother, Rosemary Forbes, were cousins.[snip] ...according to documents released under the JFK Documents...

Charles at LGF has a great link to a wonderful, peaceful, unashamedly moonbatty site: The Iraq Photo Project. You can click on it yourselves if you want. Moonbats galore holding up signs saying how sorry they are for the Iraq war. The photos will be distributed to all Arab media to show how Americans don't support the War in Iraq. What it really shows is how some people have never left the 60's - but that's another story. Here's my contribution! I hope they accept it because I did it with all sorts of colors and stuff and it really...
