This is an excerpt from the book Unfit for Command, copyright 2004 by John O'Neill and Jerome Corsi. The excerpt begins on page 117 at the subtitle of "Skid Row." "Skid Row" Marine First Lieutenant Jim Warner had had a rough time, even for a POW in the gulag of North Vietnam in the spring of 1969. Having been interrogated and tortured for four months by the North Vietnamese, who threatened to hold him after the war for trial as a war criminal, Warner (once the proud backseat navigator of a Phantom jet) had just been transferred by the...

In Part five Danny demonstrates and documents the facts of Kerry's illicit medals. And why Kerry is "UnFit for Command". KERRY'S SILVER STAR--28 FEB. 1969--Kerry was the Officer in Tactical Command of a 3-boat patrol. On board the boats were Army Advisors and numerous South Vietnamese soldiers. Kerry wrote the Operations Report for the patrol, which was used, with no other documentation, as the basis for his being awarded the Silver Star. Kerry's citation for the Silver Star states in part; ---"came under intense fire from an entrenched enemy force---Kerry ordered his boat (PCF-94) to attack as all units opened...

...[T]here is a character issue that has firmly attached itself to the Massachusetts senator. An open letter to Mr. Kerry signed by 197 officers and men who served with him in Vietnam -- the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth -- charges that, "you have deceived the public, and in the process have betrayed honorable men, to further your personal political career." It is not nothing to have almost 200 men you served with, of various political persuasions, call you a liar.... "Unfit for Command" ...charges the senator with unprincipled fakery about his Vietnam record, has been flying off the bookshelves....

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 - The Republicans finally have Hollywood's answer to Michael Moore: "Celsius 41.11 - The Temperature at Which the Brain Begins to Die," a documentary made in six weeks that is billed as "The Truth Behind the Lies of Fahrenheit 9/11!" After its premiere in Georgetown on Tuesday night, there seemed to be two prevailing sentiments among the solidly Republican crowd of 300. One was that the film is a lot more thoughtful and accurate than "Fahrenheit 9/11." The other was that it is not going to gross $100 million. But then, that was not the point, as...

Next Sunday, Kitty Kelley's anti-Bush book, "The Family," will knock John O'Neill's Kerry-bashing book, "Unfit for Command," off the top spot on the New York Times best-seller list. Perhaps that's good news for the Kerry campaign. But it's more bad news for political discourse. Both books are unfit to read. (I've read them both.) Mr. O'Neill's hatred for John Kerry, nurtured over three decades, oozes out of every page of "Unfit for Command" and makes it difficult to take the book seriously. Perhaps his account of what happened on the Bay Hap River -- he says Mr. Kerry "fled the...

My son is 15 years old and a teacher at his school wanted to know if he would like to read "Unfit for Command." My son enthusiastically said yes and has been reading it. He is amazed to find out what he has read and is amazed this man could even aspire to be president. Of course his classmates can't believe he'd even want to read it and he's ridiculed for being "pro-Bush." I've alluded to his knowledge of matters political in various threads here on FR and I think he may have a calling in the political arena.

My lawyer readers will immediately recognize this as an invitation to Kerry supporters to make a motion for partial summary judgment on the SwiftVets' claims. This short paragraph from a New York Times article perfectly illustrates the liberal media's widespread characterization of the results to date of the SwiftVets' campaign (boldface added): Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which drew national attention with advertisements making unsubstantiated attacks against Mr. Kerry's military service, has less money and uses several strategies to stretch its dollars, said one of its leaders, John O'Neill. To find a similar example from the blogosphere, one need look...

Area bookstores have been stocking their shelves in time for the Nov. 2 election. A number of political books on President George W. Bush, Senator John Kerry, the war on terror and other election issues are making partisan pitches to readers. And more are on the way, including two from Michael Moore, who took a swing from the left at Bush in his documentary "Fahrenheit 9-11." Moore's two books are "Will They Ever Trust Us Again?," a collection of letters written to Moore by U.S. soldiers in Iraq, and "The Official 'Fahrenheit 9-11' Reader," to accompany his DVD of the...

Those who dismiss critics of John Kerry's Vietnam service as just a bunch of right-wing Republicans out to advance George W. Bush's cause don't know what they are talking about -- or they are engaged in wishful thinking. Okay, I may have once thought that about the critics, too. But after poring over the large volume of e-mail I received after my Aug. 28 column, "What Matters About Kerry and Vietnam," I don't any longer .....Bill Clinton appointed Coleman to the Pentagon post, in which he served from 1994 to 1998. Somehow, despite our running into each other over the...

New York, NY, Sep. 24 (UPI) -- John F. Kerry biographer Douglas Brinkley said the Democratic nominee is not the war hero people thought he was, the New York Times reported Friday. Brinkley made the admission as part of a larger point that the debates over Kerry's service in Vietnam and George W. Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard are not nearly as important as the ongoing debate about the U.S. role in Iraq, the issue Kerry appears to have chosen to end the campaign with. A noted historian, Brinkley, whose book on Kerry is cited as the...

John Kerry has been accused of flip-flopping. There's little question that he dances around issues, takes politically convenient positions, tells people what they want to hear, panders to special-interest groups, changes his mind frequently and performs political gymnastics on the great issues of the day. But there's one thing consistent in Kerry's political character – ever since he came to the attention of the American public in 1971. He is wrong. He is wrong about our enemies. And he's wrong about America. John Kerry is consistently wrong. In fact, even when he's right, he's wrong. Because, on those rare occasions...

I was quite keen to get my hands on a copy of "Unfit for Command" by John O'Neill, so I went to my branch of Borders here in Singapore the week it was launched, and not finding it placed an order. They would notify me by post when it would arrive. they said 4-6 weeks. Well, yesterday, having not heard from them, I went down and asked them for an update, and the sales guy said 'out of stock' and that it is NOT GOING TO BE PRINTED anymore. Huh? I was a bit confused. I thought it was No.1...
