Now, on the heels of yet another revelation—that Kerry’s DD 214 (“Report of Transfer or Separation”), displayed on his website, shows his Silver Star embellished with an unauthorized “V” for valor—which makes it facially false and at variance with official government records (see our article, John Kerry’s Mysterious Combat “V”)—it has come to light that his Silver Star award is fraught with other peculiarities.

This is obvious, I suppose, but it says a lot about the mainstream media even so: Although Fahrenheit 9/11 is vicious and entirely based on cheap innuendo, the mainstream press hailed it, with the New York Times calling the effort a “blistering documentary attack.” Unfit for Command is by contrast sober and factual—and any errors it has been shown to contain are minor. The mainstream press has nevertheless responded with frenzied denuciations, with the New York Times devoting a front-page, above-the-fold story to what was in effect a hatchet job on the authors. Bookstores say customers protest as demand outpaces supply of anti-Kerry book Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) -- The nation's two biggest bookstore chains, Barnes & Noble and Borders, say angry customers are accusing them of political bias as the retailers struggle to keep up with demand for a best seller that questions John Kerry's military service in Vietnam. "Unfit for Command," which went on sale Aug. 11 with a first printing of 85,000, will have 550,000 copies in print by next week, according to Regnery Publishing. Sales have soared as allegations about the Democratic nominee's wartime actions dominate the presidential...

Barnes & Nobles continues to say that they are unable to fill customer orders for Unfit to Command. Could it have anything to do with that bookseller being one of the Kerry-Edwards Campaign corporate donors?

I've been putting together a timeline of the end of Kerry's short tour in Vietnam, and I think the sequence highlights two events that have not been focused upon together and should be emphasized: (a) Kerry abandoned the other boats and fled from what he thought was a battle, and (b) he abandoned his own boat and rode home with the wounded. 13 Mar 1969 - Five Swift Boats are sent to raid a Vietcong village: Kerry PCF-94, Droz PCF-43, Pees PCF-3, Chenoweth PCF-23, and Thurlow PCF-51. Special Forces Lieutenant Rassman goes along for the ride on Kerry's boat. They...

Important note from Amazon.com: We've decided to suspend our normal customer review policies and rules for this title. For example, we usually prohibit ad hominem attacks. That policy in particular seems to be incompatible with presidential election year politics. Therefore, short of obscenities, reviews on this book are now a free-for-all. We take no responsibility for the following discussion. Aren't presidential election years great? Have fun!

To all who have read "Unfit for Command" and believe the contents, need to post their views and opinions on the website's of Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The book burning Libs are hijacking the sites intended for giving a thumbs up or down to make political statements and disenfranchising the reputation of the "Swifties" with rhetoric. I encourage all those out there that appreciate the courage of the Swifties to take a stand for truth check out the sites.

Booksellers Caught in Dustup Over Kerry Record As the battle between John Kerry and the self-proclaimed "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth," escalates, booksellers are getting caught in the crossfire. The past few days have brought curious--and apparently unrelated--incidents concerning the Kerry-bashing bestseller, Unfit for Command., co-written by one of the "Swift Boat" group's leaders, John O'Neill. Several store managers at Barnes & Noble and Borders spent the weekend fending off complaints from customers that the two chains were refusing to sell the book, which attempts to debunk Kerry's claim's about his war record. Meanwhile, independent and chain booksellers say they've...

Some bristle over scarcity of book critical of Kerry By Terry Rodgers UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER August 24, 2004 The book that triggered a firestorm of debate over Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's service during the Vietnam War is missing in action. Some frustrated customers have accused store clerks of having a liberal bias for not stocking "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry." But the truth is less conspiratorial: The book's publisher simply didn't print enough copies. Regnery Publishing Inc., a small company with headquarters in Washington, D.C., originally planned to print just 40,000 copies, a...

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Were John Kerry and the veterans organization he led the real reason the Republicans broke into Watergate in 1972, with information on them the target of the espionage? Was doing so an early onset of Republican political paranoia against his work, a harbinger of the pending campaign against him in 2004? Bob Weiner, the 1971-72 Youth Voter Registration director for the Young Democrats office at the Watergate headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and recently a Clinton White House staffer for six years, is asking these questions after doing a little research to refresh...

NEW YORK -- Barnes & Noble Inc. said Monday it has been pinched by strong demand for a new book that questions the Vietnam-era actions of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. The nation's largest book store chain also said Republican and Democratic critics have lodged thousands of complaints accusing it of both favoring and suppressing "Unfit for Command," which accuses the Massachusetts senator of distorting his military record. The book, which went on sale Aug. 11, has already sold out and is not available, Barnes & Noble said. Its publisher, Regnery Publishing Inc., won't have more books available until later...

TV WATCH On Cable, a Fog of Words About Kerry's War Record By ALESSANDRA STANLEY here is the fog of war and then there is the fog of cable. Over the last few weeks, 24-hour news networks have done little to find out what John Kerry did in Vietnam, but they have provided a different kind of public service: their examination of his war record in Vietnam illustrates once again just how perfunctory and confusing cable news coverage can be. Facts, half-truths and passionately tendentious opinions get tumbled together on screen like laundry in an industrial dryer - without the...

Isn't it ironic how Michael Moore stole the name Fahrenheit 451 from Ray Bradbury's novel about book burning and social oppression and now this is exactly what John Kerry wants done to the book "Unfit For Command". This is just the epitome of the double talk the left is try to feed to the intellectually weak with whom they are counting on for a win in November.

Went into Barnes & Noble (Emeryville CA) to see if they had Unfit for sale and displayed. WOW - The store has had 2 shipments in and both were sold out within HOURS!. They are expecting another shipment in within days. So I called around to the major bookstores in the Peoples Republic of the Bay Area. Most have not received any books yet and are miffed because they are missing out on a big profit item. Very large demand and the attitude of the staff I talked with was positive for the book. Those that had received them are...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Controversial book "Unfit for Command," which fires an election-year salvo at Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's war record, has claimed one unintended victim -- bookstore chain Barnes & Noble Inc . Barnes & Noble, the world's largest bookseller, on Monday issued a statement saying it had sold out of the book and, in effect, held up its hands in surrender to what it called "thousands of complaints" from both supporters and detractors of the book. Supporters, Barnes & Noble said, are claiming the bookseller has intentionally not stocked the title or is hiding it, while detractors...
